Good question Shena. I would like to know how you celebrated your 18th birthday in "true Finnish style" as well. Looks and sounds like you are having a lot of fun. I hope you are past your "mono". Post more often. Love, Dad.
Big sis Mal doesn't read Obviously your sister didn't read the part where you said you felt way better on Sunday and beleived the mono was gone. Way to care. Anyway, I'll be nice to you M Ho because it's around the holidays. Sounds like you are having fun with your family. Will you see your host family again when you move to your new host family or do you just cut off? I hope it's not too tough for you. Happy New Year! Oh, I almost forgot...what is celebrating your 18th Birthday in "true Finnish style" mean? You got drunk didn't you? I think you did...
whoo! Whooo choir!! I hope you have fun. When you come back, you'll have to teach UIC A Cappella (;)) some awesome songs you've learned.
btw, some of your grammar in this post is terrible. But you can still speak.... 4 more languages than i can? lol
Hey It was great to talk to you on your birthday! 18 Woohoo! We will have to set up a Skype for X-mas. Glad you didn't freeze in the Artic circle! They only thought John was my son because we are both sooo cute! Stay warm! Love ya! Sissy II
Artic Circle!! It looks like you are actually 3/4 in one place and 1/4 in the other. But whatever, you're the genius! Cute dogs with the dog sled, I bet that was fun. Sorry you almost got your head chopped off. Artic Circle seems pretty cool, an experience of a lifetime.
Turkey Yeh!! You got Thanksgiving, and how about that reindeer dinner. Coffee at Grandma's house sounds great. I think I have some walleye in the freezer yet. It's soooooooo good. love ya
Whoa So I had to make notes while I was reading this post so I could remember all that I wanted to comment on.
Let's see. I'm glad you found a pair of skinny jeans...I'm still working on that. I always think that they make my butt look funny. :) And..you are reindeer? That sounds so cruel, lol. I hope it was good at least. When I was home for thanksgiving, I looked in the pantry and I saw boxes of cornbread mix..I wanted to make some, but then I realized that we had enough food to feed an army, so that will wait until Christmas break..which is in 3 weeks! whoo! In other thanksgiving news though...we didn't have a turkey :( My mom didn't want to mess with carving it. SO, i'm glad you guys were able to have one!
One last question...why does your host mom tell you to eat something salty before bed? Does it soak up all your excess water? lol
Stay warm!
Soooooo entertaining! Everyone here loves reading your emails as they are soooooo entertaining! Glad the thanksgiving meal worked out for you and you were able to share our tradition with your host family. XOXO LYFM
yay! Good to get another blog from you!! Sounds like you've been having fun. We had a great Thanksgiving at Grandma's but it wasn't the same without you. There were a lot of mashed potatoes left over! :-) I'll be emailing you pictures soon and I'm going to try to print some to send you as well. I love you!
Mallory
Jokes? "she wanted us to Finnish it off"... was that intentional? Anyways, I like your coat, and your boots. I want to find some sweet black boots. Sounds like you're having fun..sleeping, laying around, hanging with friends. Tonight is the first practice of the a cappella group that Siva and I started. I'm super excited!! I still haven't found that Without a Trace episode. :-/ OH! And one of my pictures on brickfish is in 698th place. At least that's where it was last night. How exciting is that?! Ok, I hope you're having fun and staying warm!
Snow! I would like to see some snow in IL but i think I have to wait a bit. I love your comments with your pictures and just a quick question. Are you becoming a Valley Girl? like, you keep saying like things like ridiculous and like...I think it's funny and totally you! Sorry about not beeing able to sew but don't you think you need to learn if you want to be a doctor?
snow! I like your boots and coat but can't believe you are excited about the snow! You look good in the pictures and I'm glad you are having fun. I love and miss you!
hey Kenny!! Glad to hear from you!! It sounds like you're having a wonderful time!! I like your new jacket and boots! Very cute!!! I've noticed that your English is slacking a bit.... better work on that!! I love you and I miss you :-)
Seatbelts I love how little things like the size of seatbelts are always a topic of conversation with you. Oh and just so you know, aside from taking Japanese next semester, I'm adding another language to my repetoir... french biatch! I'm going to try to catch up with you. Although I'm pretty behind at the moment.
Love you!!!
I'm reading these now! Ok so about the chapel and salt mines and stuff under ground, I totally saw a show on the travel channel not 2 weeks ago about that. How you described it is exactly how I remember it in the show and I have no doubt that they're the same place.
And in case you didn't already know... jealous.
Love you though!!!
Trink it in! Why does Alfredo look high? Something is wrong with that kid and I'm glad you were not talking to him much otherwise you might have been influenced to do something...illiegal. The Rotary people should search you guys before you play your "fun" games in the freezing cold. I'd sue them...you could of got frostbite. Terrible terrible. Also, Mallory looks different then the last time I saw her (like a week ago)...man how time changes you huh? Also, your photos in the last three blogs were great!
