Russ-Asian Fusion I like the meld between the two cultures. I am glad you got the chance to enjoy some time away from teaching and to enjoy such an interesting part of this massive land!
Top Ten New Experiences Now you are down right making me jealous! #4 is all I have in common with you! Thanks for the restaurant list. I'll be sure to check some of them out.
Chinese food in Boston Thanks to some excellent Chinese cooking classes I took in Boston, I am already prepared to cook a home-style Chinese meal when I see you again back home. I've already made steamed whole fish and dumplings, as well as a few other dishes, and hope I can learn more! In the meantime, if you feel a craving for real Chinese food, this Chinese cooking class also clued me into good restaurants in the Boston area. You probably know about these already, Peter, but there's Hei La Moon in Chinatown, just down the road from South Station, which is where I had chicken's feet for the first time. That, like cow's tongue, is a lot less gross than it sounds, especially if it's cooked right. If memory serves me correctly, the teacher also recommended a different style of dim sum restaurant in Belmont called Shangri-la.
Food for Fodder I am thoroughly enjoying your blog and am pleasantly surprised to find you eating exotic fish. It is amazing what one does when out of his natural habitat. As for teasing me with pictures of delicious food, you owe me a proper Chinese meal when I see you!
