Hey laura Hi laura, I just read you blog. It sounds like your having a really great time. It is nice to hear your stories and see your photo's, it's almost like I'm there with you. Hope you are having a wonderful time and keep safe. Also if you ever have time to email my address is STR6381@cup.edu so send me an email some time. I love and miss you very much. I'll telling grandma and my mom about what your doing there, talk to you later.
Try Hitchhiking Here What do you think, I'm made of money? I was arguing with a taxi driver today (to get him to lower the fare 5 dalasis ($.20), and I said I was a student, which works because most students here are poor! And it's the truth!
You Do Owe Me An Email - Get on It! All that other stuff's true too. Lately, we've started calling them "Nekoonyou" which is black person, which they think is funny too.
loved entry 4 Hey Loo,
This was the best one, made me really feel like what it must be like for you. Hope all your walking makes you love walking - it is one of my favorite things, specially if there is something to see. Doubt I will come visit - you know I have to save my money for those college student children of mine - who will surely send me on a nice trip later after they are established in life. Love you, glad you are loving your trip. Chooch
Hey chief Wow. That was very informative Loo, I feel like a can imagine you're day a little better now. I like the pictures too. Most of them are not at all what I would have expected. Keep this stuff coming!
love the entry You sound like quite the experienced traveller! Seriously, the more I read your entries, the more I wish Id come this semester too. sounds like everything is going well! I owe you an email! but I love reading this blog and seeing the pictures. Hows school?
also, when the kids yell toubab at you, yell it back at them - it confuses them and shuts them up for the split second you need to explain anything :) we did it - it was fun and they thought it was hilarious too - good way to make friends with them! :) miss you!!!!
you rock! wow those are some pretty sweet pictures. It's so neat that you're living over there... I'm jealous. I've never stayed in another country more than a week, and thats just not long enough to see everything! miss you and wish you were here to help the soccer team! take care.

I am jealous My little cousin,
I am so jealous of you and your trip. What a wonderful opportunity and how brave you are. I do not think I would have had the guts to go off that far from the family at your age. (I am not sure I would do it alone at my age.) I am quite proud of you and brag about you and what you are doing all the time.
Keep having a great experience and I will continue lurking.
Love you bunches--Kelly
I miss you Hey. We sent you more mail, oh wait, we haven't sent it to you yet. I am sooooo busy. I didn't know it was possible to be this busy. But we WILL be sending you more mail soon. I can't believe I have gone a month without talking to you. Its torture. But anyway, I hope you are having a great time. From your posts it sounds like it has been quite the adventure. I'm noticing a theme of guys in these pics... :) Anyway, if I don't stop now I will write you a book in this one comment. Oh, and I got your text. Miss you like crazy.

Your Very Favorite Sister (Because I Don't Smell As Bad As The Other One) How's it goin' woogie? I can't believe you haven't acccepted any marriage proposals yet. Honestly, Laur, I think you need to lower your standards. Minties, minties, minties!
youre there! Laura - I LOVE your entries! It makes me homesick for it all - we stayed at the Fana too, i really liked it. And what room are you staying in in Banjul? Youre in the house I was in!! My room was the one to the left from the little hallway. And the bathroom - love your description of the shower - so true. But I appreciated the cold "showers" at night before going to bed. And hows my skirt? i liked the pic with you in it. I miss you!
hope all is good - keep us posted!
gros bisous - Marion

As a college student I first studied abroad in Serrekunda, The Gambia, and I became even more fascinated by human diversity than I already had been. I was hooked on travel. Later, I studied abroad in Brno, Czech Republic. Next I lived in Daegu, South Korea while I taught English there. After two years back in my hometown, I'm abroad again-this time in Spain! ... full info
