one chin per person ?? Golly, the "one chin per person" advice is wonderful, and I will try to heed it carefully. But I never heard of it before, and we've been married for 48-plus years, and hardly anything like that remains unmentioned between us, so just now I asked Barbara "where did this idea come from?" Her answer as that it just came into her head while she was with you guys in Amsterdam. This proves what I've always known anyway, which is that she is the most imaginative person I ever met. It remains true. Thanks for being such wonderful hosts! Bobby
Harumph! This is Barbara writing now. Another great blog and I have to start thinking now about the stuff i say. The scarf tying lesson is great. Do you also have advice for those women who are dumb enough to wear the scarves when its warm, like around here? Be sure to know i love love your blog stuff. Also, be sure and go to a few flea markets if you can find any this time of year. They are really a scene. Marche aux puce may still be on. Hope Ronnie cant find to much gardening to do. Weeds dont grow in Paris? Give him my love. B
Delight living the Parisian way! To see a country is to meet and live amongst the people. Such beauty seeing the incredible CITY OF LIGHTS - I can envision the little bistros, the butcher, homemade chicken soup, all bring back memories of the joy
of travelling your own way -not the guidebook way. Your descriptive blog makes one feel they are along for the journey, too! Glad you are both better. This is my first time commenting on a blog, so hope you receive it.
BUONNE NIUT!
Letter to Maria Jacobs Hi Liz ... I'm enjoying your postings enormously. What a fabulous adventure you and Ron are living! I just had to tell you how affected we were by your beautifully written piece from Amsterdam. Michael, my husband, is Dutch, wioth lots of family still in Amsterdam. Definitely not the emotional type, but he was as deeply moved as I was with your letter to Maria Jacobs and very impressed with your talent. We have so many Jewish friends all over North America who share the personal impact of that horror -- but few have been aboe to articulate the human aspect as you have. Barbara Kay, the columnist for the National Post, I know would appreciate. Big change for us here ... we're moving to Bowen Island next month. Found our dream house and that was it! So, we'll probably not be doing our Pilates together in Kits ... but hope to stay in touch ... and look forward to more blogs. Happy travelling. Gayle
worth it? Was it worth getting sick to have a french house call? Almost? Can you find Wellness Formula? Your writing is wonderful Liz and it make me look forward to the next and the next. And to salivate for Paris. Thanks!
Feeling Better Those of you who are Johnny (Joanie) Come Latelys to our blog would be pleased to know that, thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, we are both feeling much better.
other side I enjoyed this view of Paris from the wrong side of the Kleenex. I always thought croissants were over rated anyway. I hope you are both feeling better now. Carolyn
Love your blogs and so glad you decided to write about Paris. Hope you guys are feeling better. I would like to hear more about the people. Take care and be well.

sensual Never in my life have I read such a sensually sexy decadent description of eating a croissant - it has given me goosebumps - but - alas, here in the midst of Israel, I am desperately far away from even the most mediocre croissant and will have to satisfy myself with eating a Hanuka do'nut - they have now flooded every bakery and supermarket - three weeks before hanukka. No comparison!!!!! Oh for a taste of that amazing croissant!!!
Enjoy every second and feel better. Good idea to take something to strenthen your immune systems like echinicea.
lots of love
isme.
my favorite I would have loved to try the Macaron Rose Lychee. By the way, I read up on the Vicomte. He really got "Fouquet''d" by his king, Louis IX. Is that where the expression "royally f***ed" originated?
Heaven on earth Are you kidding me?
Bike riding in Amsterdam sounds great and exploring Paris sounds even better, but I dont think it gets more magnificant than being surrounded by heaps of chocolate in an elegant castle!
I will understand if the next picture I see of you includes a few more chins!
I miss you.....do you think that chocolate will keep in your purse until you get home?
Sacre Bleu..... This latest adventure pretty much epitomizes your entire journey- pure decadence. The envy over here is palpable as I bite into a stale mini-Crispy Crunch, a leftover from Gabriel's Halloween exploits.
AMAZING! Liz and Ron,
How deliciously decadent! Thank you for so expertly guiding us through this
visual feast. Great photos. I am sure you have been elevated to a whole new level in the world
of chocolate. What a magnificent setting Vaux le Vicomte is to house these precious
chocolate treasures. YUM - O - LA.
Love, Miri
Delicious! What a delicious piece-- I had to grab some left-over Halloween candy while reading it!
Great visuals, too!
PS
I agree with you about the rodents.
WOW! What a spectacular sight to see the Concert Gebouw and the reflection
of the tram. You captured it beautifully and have elevated yourselves to
serious videographers. Loved your 'bests'. You have also given us a delightful
glimpse into your tranquil neighbourhood that abounds with simple pleasures.
Love, Miri
sloggis To think that I have only one pair , a wise gift from a friend. Now I face every day, unless it is a sloggi day, feeling vaguley insecure and unsupported. I have looked in vain for something even close and have, alas accepted my fate. Better to be like Fred in his old Stanfields and not know any better.
