Know Lesley and Vicky that you will be welcome here for the time you can spent with us...maybe next year,if God want.
Our door will be open for you and yours!
I've,since a week,a question in my head, and it could be the thinking for the year 2006:
"Can we eat when not yet all the children have eating?¿?"
Even I know my answer, the question follow me as my shadow...and I thank God for this shadow I can carry...What can I say more?
Just thanks, to help us helping.More help we receive, more help we can give.
Maybe I hear about you by mail?
Bey Lesley and Vicki we stay in touch, and thank you very very much for all, your friendship too.
Gil and the gorrioncitos
Pequeño The lad with Downs Syndrome (climbing on the frame in Lesley´s photo) who lives at Home Loss Gorriones and goes to the Escuela Especial in Ayacucho (where I volunteered for 6 weeks) is called Jhonatan, although he is known as "Pequeño" (which means "small") at school because we had 2 Jhonatans in one class.
Echo everything Lesley has said on her Blog about our visit to Los Gorriones. The place is simply brimming over with love and affection for the children.
Veggie rebellion? Hey, do i detect a hint of sorrow on the vegetarian diet, I remember you and chicken Nuggets, think your amazing sticking to it when the selection choice is so limited. x

Veggie hi there,
Just had a read through your latest posting, Vicki had said that youd been on an interseting walk through Ayachuco, I know what you mean about all the meat on display, without any sign of fly traps, etc, Ive seen similar on my travels. It didnt put me off meat and trn me veggie, just meant I was a bit more choosy about wher I ate.
I liked all the photos, did you put in an offer for the house??
Keep up the good work,
best wishes, Mark
Galaxy!!!!!!!! Thanks to Lesley for sparing one of her precious bars of Galaxy for me (and thanks to Lesley´s Mum for sending them). I´m going to try to keep it as a treat for Christmas Day when I will still be here in Ayacucho (but that will require much will-power for which I am not renowned!) so might have to lodge it in the safe in the CCS Office here to ensure I´m not tempted.
... but I'm not creepy, I swear! Hey Lesley, remember me? Just kidding, you have no idea who I am! I volunteered in Guatemala with Cross-Cultural Solutions earlier this year and had the most amazing time. I’m already trying to figure out which CCS trip to take next and was considering Peru. And when I did a Google search on CCS Ayacuhco earlier this week, your blog showed up! I hope you don’t mind that I’ve read a few of the entries. You’re definitely selling Peru for me! Reading about your last day at WW brought back such memories of *my* last day at the orphanage I worked at in Guatemala . . . and reading about the teenagers on your team makes me thankful the ones in our group were so much better behaved! I think it's a toss-up which of us can boast the better shower situation, though :) Anyway, thanks for the extra insight into CCS’s Peru program. If you ever want to know more about the Guate one, I’m more than happy to send you the link to the blog I kept when I was there! Take care, keep loving those kids, and make the most of the rest of your time in Ayacucho! ~ Bridget in Chicago
