We get up and Michael goes to pick up our rent car while I finish getting us packed to go. I put our backpacks in storage at the lodge, then we all load up the car for our trip to Te Anau. After a stop at the grocery store for picnic supplies and another stop to buy a chilly bin (cooler), we are off to Te Anau. We are treated to one on NZ’s famous single-lane bridges on the way out of Queenstown. Michael does a very good job of driving on the left-hand side of the road in our right-hand drive rent car.
