Returning Home
What a great connection you have with your Indian family and Rajastan...warms the heart.

Thanks!
Learned something new today! (Btw, I haven't been to India. Would love to make that trip someday soon)

You're missing a treat...
...once you overcome the culture shock! I've been here so often that I now hardly notice the garbage, poverty and appalling driving conditions, but first-timers find it all quite hard to accept. Be prepared for these and you'll certainly enjoy the amazing palaces, forts and India's rich cultural heritage. Oh, and the food's amazing too!

We should have had you as our guide
Sounds like David and Janice are having a wonderful time with you. We are convinced that we want you for out guide when we go back to India. Love the details of the wedding. Glad you are getting to do some birding.

Greetings from India
Thanks Dave/Merry Jo. We're all having a wonderful time - but I think we should have included a few days of R&R. The schedule is a bit full-on for us oldies! As for guiding, I'm cheap - although I never need an excuse to come back to India!

Love the further details you've added from your last blog about the wedding. What an interesting experience! Really loved all the panorama photos you've uploaded and quite a few others as well.

Thanks Michelle. This was the third Rajput wedding I've had the pleasure of attending. At least this one was only the marriage day - the other two involved ceremonies before and after, and lasted five days! Read previous blogs for more descriptive stuff. All were arranged marriages of course and all were wonderful experiences.

CONGRATULATIONS
Another 3 TBers travelling together...Mike Fossey & Grey Haired Nomads...gotta see where you go...have a blast. Why can't you take photos with the tour group in the slums? Is it a security issue?

Hectic schedule, blogs delayed!
You'll have to be a bit patient Dave. We have so much to see and too but, alas, the days are too short. Grey haired nomads are ahead of me with their blogs (David writes faster than me) but I'm ahead on picture sorting. The reason for the ban on photos in Dharavi is simply to prevent it becoming a tourist site, to maintain the residents' privacy and to avoid embarrassing them with a proliferation of pictures of the poor conditions in which they exist. I wholeheartedly agree with the policy, although Reality Tours will provide high res photos (taken a year or two back), all of which I have and some of which I included in the blog. Keep a look out for future blogs. David and Janice are still reeling from culture shock!

:)
I am off to India again this year. We will be travelling overland from Delhi to the Andaman Islands, and then back again.

The Andaman Islands - wow!
That should be a great trip Mel. I'm envious. We're now ending our third week and have just two more weeks to go. India is as wonderful as ever. The Grey haired nomads are still gasping at new sights daily!

That's great you are traveling with fellow TBers...
How did this come about? Bombay was my first and last introduction to India at the age of 8. At that age you don't have the ability to put things into perspective. Maybe someday I'll give India a second chance.

India never changes
Bob, you must come back to India- although you could leave it a few years and it would still be the same chaotic, colourful, incredible place! The Grey haired nomads, on their first trip to India, are my elder brother David and his wife Janice. They asked me to bring them - it's my ninth or tenth time here!

Thanks Michelle. India certainly makes us realise how fortunate we are. If only we could give a little of what we have to the millions here who have nothing...

Thank you for helping to promote the area
Hi Mike First of all, thanks for spreading the word about the beauty of this area. We have a little cottage agency business, so it's nice to read such a lovely and well written article. And great photos! The following article might be of interest if you get a chance to visit us again. http://dioni.co.uk/landscape-photography-in-snowdonia-top-10-locations/
