A question of feet...
I do hope you both had beautifully clean perfumed feet since you appear to be using each others as pillows!!!!

Feet
Rather you than me sharing with Lou's little piggies!

Hard work...
Yep, you definately seem to be working hard... well, working hard at staying in those hammocks anyway!!! Seriously, I know you need the rest and it sounds as if you had a lovely relaxing weekend. Fab nails by the way!!
28th May 2007

Just love the nails
I just love the nails. Why can't mine ever look like that? Too much digging in the sand with the children at school and clearing up paint. Still it would be some talking point if I turned up with those red flowers.

Ahhh
Lou looks just like she did as a little girl when she is asleep. That girl has perfected the art of sleeping anywhere , even when she is on duty! Where were her charges while she was catching these zzzz's? Windmill looks lovely, and nice to get a story of your working days.
16th May 2007

Hi Kat!!
Hi Kat! Nice to see where you work. I love the windmill. Keep up the good work. Love wahid

Yaaay! Updates!
Hooray Hooray! You finally updated your blog. Do you have any idea how boring your last shopping list was getting?...... Mind you there seemed to a lot of shopping happening in this entry too..... Hmmm, did you go on a gap year or a 6 month shopping expedition? Just curious.

Enjoy your travels, Love and hugs from the Bates!

Ermmmm . . ?
Katherine, dahling, I thought you were out there for character building, charity giving, physically and mentally strenuous work, not shopping, beaches, roast marshmallows, shopping, DVD watching and shopping? Of course, if you're bringing back lots for your less foot loose friends here, I could alter my perception of it . . . E x

Love the hats again!
That sounded like a civilised Sunday. Shame I can't join you for the day but I'm sure you did some good shopping. I have booked you in for therapy when you return. University allowance will be a mere £5 per week!!! Love mum

MORE shopping???
What?! Not MORE shopping Katherine! Surely you must have done enough by now! So I guess we can expect you to arrive home with a rucksack full to the brim with jewellery and souveniers and everything else left behind and forgotten. Oh well, never mind.... as long as you bring something back for me!

On the 'mushroom' hat
Why are you so against the hat?! I think it's lovely if slightly, er, less conventional than your - rather provocative - choice. Was it only salsa lessons you had, or are you off to join the cast of something like 'Chicago'? ;-) The scarves sound lovely, and much cheaper than in Italia. You are right, however - I have absolutely *no* idea how you'll readjust to the English prices. E x

Hats galore
Love your hat Kat, it really does something for you (no not the mushroom). Hopefully the ones Lou bought did not include the one on the right, ( looking bonkers again, even in broad daylight) though I like the checked number. I hope she bought me one! Sue

I we have the third on the right ,second row back?
Hi Kat Yep, we finally chose the one we wanted. Is that OK?
29th April 2007

Loved the 'magnum drawbridge'
Hi Kat After re looking at your wonderful castle I noticed the fine addition of a sturdy drawbridge in true ice cream style. Excellent! Are you sure you should be doing a history degree in September or should engineering be a better choice?
28th April 2007

Toadstools or mushrroms?
Well Katherine all I can say I am glad you did not buy THAT hat! Customs and airport control would not have coped with it at all on the way back. Love the table of hats. My little monsters will certainly appreciate that for discussion on Monday! I'll let you know their comments!

Biggest best sandcastle ever!!
Yep! You were right! That is one super-duper sandcastle. Great moat. And flags. Not the absolute best we've ever done though... I do recall a family effort involving carving battlements with a knife and a futile attempt to actually fill the moat..... do you remember that one?! Sounds like you had a great time. Speak soon.
24th April 2007

I thought Percy was a Park keeper!
Hi Kat Nice top. Have you bought one for me? Glad you had a great weekend. I like the black and white photos. Very elegant!Glad you had a good weekend at home before going off again. You must need a rest sometime???
24th April 2007

shopping etc.
Well I think your top is very pretty. Who is Roberto though?! Nice black and white piccys. Whoose attempt at being artistic was that?
21st April 2007

What about my first comment?
Sorry that my first comment didn't pass the censor. That volcano looks angry. Did you get any more photos? Not sure what the 'lime' mission was about. Sounds interesting.

What fishing in church?
What's this about fishing in church. Is this a new hobby? How's the Lord's Prayer going? Of course they blocked off the main square when they knew you were coming to town!
18th April 2007

What church again?
Now how did you manage to get stuck in church when you were just visiting the pretty building! These nuns can be very persuasive!
18th April 2007

shopping bargains
Yes Katherine, who can argue with six scarves for $10! Only thing is you've already bought some scarves and I recall a bundle of Indian pashminas and Egyptian shawls sitting in your wardrobe back home..... but absolutely, who can argue with six more?!!!
18th April 2007

Ditzy sister!
Only you could wander into the middle of mass and not realise it! How is your atheism holding up with all these Catholics??!! Your American 'friends' managed Cockney accents? Quite impressive from people who thought you and Lou both had the same 'posh accent'. So if you are slowly catching Lou's Sheffield accent does that mean she's adopting yours? I'm not sure we'll recognise you at all when you come home speaking Spanish with a Sheffield accent!!!

pretty sunset
Hi Kat - love that photo of the sunset. Very pretty. Hope to hear from you again soon. Love wahid
