10 years and that billboard photo never made it home! Kara! How could you!!!!!! This is actually a billboard that came out of a few TV ads. It was also on the trains. I was playing the part of a lost foreigner in Tokyo and the two ACC kids saved the day by telling us that the train station is around the corner. Anyway, I had forgotten until ... If you listen to the ACC tapes/cds, you may recognize the voices too. It was too much fun! Thanks for the laugh again.
Crissie Crissie is me (Crystal) dear friend. I seem to have somewhat adopted the kind nickname Aubrey has so delightfully assigned to me! ahhh!! Just thought I would let you know for future reference. Later Gator!
Aubrey the Superstar?!?!?! Is that Aubrey and his wife on an assessment advertisement!?!?!?!?! Is this a billboard you saw? crazy stuff! ha ha ha. I had to looke once, twice and then three times! Miss you tonnes!
where are you? Hey girl - where are you on msn????? I have been looking for you every night! I feel like such a knob because i haven't left any comments! yes there are exclamations marks after each sentence - you know me - always yelling and born without an "inside voice"......miss ya tons........see you on msn!!!!!
Do you have a R-r-r-ooom with a Foone? OK, so I've decided on a kimono. You asked what I wanted you to bring back for me......Do they seel them at the bargain floor of that department store mall?? Or is it not a item that would ever show up on a discount table? Seriously....see what you can find! Also.... I'm glad that you're attempting to learn Japanese.....mabe now you'll be more tolerant of my French?? Love you princess!
Just procrastinating! Hey girl, I am procrastinating with the marking so I thought I send a quick shout your way. Your blog is amazing...it would be great as a book (think of possibilities). Anyway, still miss you and hope everything is going well.
Jolene
K... now I haven`t a clue! So Aubrey, to Crissie, to Crystal... really not sure who`s who now! Either way, thanks for noticing my sweater! It was a kick ass buy in Osu Kannon... but people here don`t compliment others on their clothes... so I`ve been buying some great new pieces (and fitting them nicely with a ten pound weight loss!) and no compliments! Anyway... thanks Crissie... or Aubrey or Crystal...
Gullible me! Yeah . . . so here in Canada I am still gullible me and I have people on staff calling me Crissie! Go figure! You pics look great and I like your new orange sweater - is that one of your Japan buys? Well, your travels look very exciting and each time they leave me can't waiting to see what is next!
Again, it is so great you are in Japan! Man, now I am spending the next few days reminiscing about Nara and Kyoto. Great places! Again, your blog is incredible! Life is good here, but not nearly as great as what you are experiencing! Although, when I get bored, I just go and send a group message from Crystal's e-mail and sign it Crissie - apparently, one of the caretakers called her Crissie the other day, so there is some excitement in my world. The pictures are great and we are all loving your creative writing! Keep havin' fun toots!
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! You are correct! The two men in the pictures are in fact the ones dressed in the black and the blue kimonos! Well played!
Is that your final answer? Well Brittany... if I revealed which ones were men, then I wouldn`t get such lovely comments... how else would I know that anyone is reading?! I will tell you that you`re right about the one in black... I think his stance in the first picture gives that one away. Try again on Drag Geisha #2.
Deer me??? Cool temples, looks very relaxing. Glad to see you're enjoying yourself more and more as time goes by.
But, "Deer me!", Kara? Come on, grow up. Just buggin' ya, it made me laugh.
Your Cheatin' Heart is too funny You are probably not going to believe this, but I have been through the Hank Williams tunes a few times with Adachi-san! Always a great time.
I am so happy to hear you are spending some Sundays with him - it is a great way to meet people and the experience is just that much greater because he takes care of his people so well when they show an interest. I am so happy for you and always jealous of you being there and me only having the memories! Take care of yourself - kyoskete ne! Mata rainen!
That Silver Purse Hey! I have looked in every Louis Vuitton shop I`ve passed (and that is surprisingly many) and have not seen the silver purse. I`ll keep a lookout for it, but I`m not sure that I`ll have the gumption to actually take a picture for you. The workers and security guards gawk at me already with my little canvass purse!
Here in Lloyd Hey there girlie! I am hoping that now you have the map I sent you from the underwear drawer and that you will be going to get me that wonderful silver purse. Thanks for thinking of me! ha ha ha.
Anyway, I am watching our dear Birttany and keeping her on her toes -always being sure to tell her when I think her skirt is too short because I know she loves that. She did some very reasonable shopping this summer (just for us I think) hee hee.
Miss you lots my shopping and partying buddy! The Budweiser suit awaits your return!
My Dearest Brittany! Hi Brittany! It is great to hear from you. Though the Japanese kids here are cute, they just simply cannot compare with the marvel that is you... and I`m sure you`d agree with that! Ha ha!
Seriously, missing you terribly here. Please keep in touch and be good for Miss Ingham!
Wow Levi You know Levi, I always knew you were smart, but the knowledge of Japanese tradition and culture that you display is uncanny! Let this be a lesson to all as to the level of educational value available to those who have lived for the Simpsons and Family Guy.
another question Shouldn't that cab-driver have gone Hari-Kiri after dishonoring his family name by getting you guys lost? Sounds to me like the Japanese aren't as honorable as I had once perceived.
Any Godzilla sightings yet?
hi hey kara. Glad to hear everything is going well for you. I hope your having a nice time.. sounds like it anyways. I received your message from Mrs Riou that you had called her telling me hi from you. Thanks for thinking of me on my first day back to school. School isnt the same without you though. I walked by your class half expecting to see you sitting behind your desk. The rest of my summer went well. I had a wonderfull time with my couzins in New Brunswick and the wedding in Ontario was really nice... Any ways I hope everything is going well for you and Iv'e been thinking about you lots. I miss those inspirational talks you always had time for with me. take care
hugs.. britt
Was my nickname in Japan I envy you soooooooooo much. Natsukashii - Your blog is so awesome though, because it reminds me of many things I had forgotten, even the not so good things.
That`s my girl! Hey Jolene! I`m missing you guys too. Glad to hear that there`s lots of cuddling going on though. I`ve been thinking of picking up a stuffed animal kitty just to get me through the nights. And sorry and the stealing of the covers. I`m sure she picked up that one from me!
