Hi from Dorothy Hi Julie and Steve
Am reading your blog with great interest to get some idea what to expect when we hit Vietnam in only two weeks!! Please send me the names of the hotels you are using if you recommend them and any good advice. How are you going with money? Are you using US$, travellers cheques, ATMs?? How much are you paying for your hotels? will it be easy to get rooms for 3 adults? (I am just wondering whether to throw in a sleeping mat so someone can sleep on the floor) How are you finding the food?
The weather here is incredibly variable, cold windy and rainy so you aren't missing much. I have approval for my year off next June, I will be doing some serious dreaming for the next 6 months
Have fun, may see you in a few weeks
Cheers Dorothy
Thanks John and Gaye We will. Had a good day today with the kids. Climbed a 7 storey pagoda and Milla got to ring the 8 tonne bell. Finished the day with 2 hours in our own private Karaoke bar. Julie and Milla were so excited I thought they were going to wet themselves. Reuben and Jude got right into it as well. More soon...
lots of love Steven
Feet are being found The kids are fine now Carole. Doesn't stop them complaining about a host of things but they are fine with all things cultural. Jude is getting used to being pinched on the cheeks by every second person he meets. We are in Dalat which is in the mountains and a refreshing 21 degrees which is a nice change. All is well in the travelling circus for now...
Well done! Well done on making it through the beginning of a wonderful family adventure. Hang in there - all will adjust and enjoy! Can't wait to hear more. Love Carole and Harley
Its all fine really Yeah, they are having a good time, even if they don't know it sometimes. We always new that HCMC was diving in the deep end. 5 hours in the excellent water slide park has put us back in the good books today. Hopefully tomorrow's 4.30 am start wont generate too much resentment in the ranks...
No runny bot yet We clawed our way back into the kids good books today with a 4-5 stint in the most excellent water park. I was expecting piss-weak but it was actually fantastic. Steri pen seems to work a treat. Been quaffing lots of HCMC tap water with no rumbles downstairs yet. Keep you posted...
you can do it! Hi Steven and Julie,
I smiled a wry smile when reading your email - I am sure things can only get better. And the kids hopefully will love the chaos and the adventure.
lol, Jo xxx
wot a culture shock! Hi all. Reckon you'll hit your stride once you leave the big smoke behind. Just box the kids round the ears and tell em how lucky they are to have such great parents and fantastic experiences. Happy travels!

Traiblazers! Hi Chaffer-Williams,
it's all downhill from here!
Remember those hazy days of travelling, stopping for a smoothie and meeting local folk in backyards and markets???
More importanly, how is the Steri-Pen?
Mik.
Hooray! You're there Sounds like a mix of fabulous and overwhelming, with a lot of waiting chucked in! Well done on getting there, and I'm sure the kids will acclimatise to such a culture change very quickly.
Looking forward to the next exciting installment!
