In Dublin's fair city where the girls are so pretty, I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheelbarrow,through streets broad and narrow, Crying cockles and mussels alive,alive-oh. Sitting low on the edge of the River Liffey, Dublin is a marvellously contradictory and vibrant place, the locals are more sophisticated than you might have expected, but can be small-town friendly too, and the city's tense history and rebellious nature, hidden by the inevitable accoutrements of modernity and affluence, appear when you least expect it. We loved it!
