Yesterday, when we were having our mega-brill day at Te Puia, we were chatting to a German couple who claimed to be disappointed as they’d seen so much better the previous day. Now, one of the reasons that we wanted to visit NZ was to see these wonderful productions from Mother Nature, so without much ado we dashed off to see their recommendation. OK, we did have to drive along the Rotorua Lake first and feed the birds and take pictures of the flying boats, but honest, we were dashing (sort of!) Heading towards Taupo, the ‘play’ capital of the area, we drove past deer rutting (I think they were young practising, but we couldn’t resist pulling up and watching).
