foodfest What mouth wateringly wonderful food! What fabulously red stuff..............I just can't wait to get at it!!!!!!
We took Roz out in a car yesterday to the botanical gardens and it was really successful......so that was a triumph.
Alan fell and smashed his face on his way back from a kareokee so he is feeling somewhat battered. A part of a tooth was removed from his lip and he needed 3 stitches inside his mouth and two outside.
Will off to Canada on 20th July; for a while...................
Very humid here of late so good climatal training for hanoi etc
LOL
Thanks for the comment Eranda, it really is touching to feel valued by someone we have never met. How ever much we gave Sri Lanka we gained at least as much in experience. We loved your country!
Thank You. Hi I am a sri lankan living in New Zealand . I followed your blog, it was very interesting and humbling. Just want to say thank you .I did more to sri lanka in your brief visit, than I did in my entire life. If you ever visit New Zealand Let me know. I live in Wellington. Enjoy you travels and be safe. Regards Eranda.
Cricket You would all Love Galle, really is fantastic. Our favourite beach was probably Arugam Bay, but the ones along the south coast esp, Mirissa and Unawatuna were top class too, and a lot more accesssible.
Thinking of you all too, as we are having a fab time. Will need some excuse for a gathering of the clans when we get back.
Happy Father's Day Happy father's day Joe. However the Hope family reunion this weekend has been a very quiet affair without the Yeates boys, though is much speculation as to whether Jake and Elliot contribute the noise or more likely father Joe!!
Cheers Chaz We love the detail from home - hope Shenstone won overall!
We are excited about moving on from here, but sorry to be leaving Sri Lanka which will forever be a big part of our lives I think!
All the best
Joe
Great! You deserve - note - deserve a break!
Good on you all!
Just to let you know that we has Sports Day the other day! The sun shone.
The opening race was dramatic with the four heads of house racing each other.
It was a close race with Rich Toomer and Nick Ridley sharing first place.
However, it was dramatic race as Mr John Parry who, it is reported, was in the lead at the time, was
in agony because of a pulled hamstring!!! Nick who is here in the LRC on my left tells me to pass on the fact that Dave Reynolds' burst of speed caused the problem.
In the great Abbey tradition and seeking a single point, Mr John Parry bit on a twig and despite immense pain finished the race.
A true Abbey Hero!
Now, Joe, you take care and enjoy a bit of luxury,
Chaz
Best wishes to you all from Nick and John and me, Chaz.
Thanks Again Kannan Well your wishes are coming true - Nic and I are sitting in the beachfront restaurant watching the boys play in the rain on the sand, writing and chatting.
Just seen a 5ft monitor lizard stalk up the beach! See you soon
And hope you both will be able to get down to some serious writing down south. Kind of hope it rains a little bit on this account =)
Very excited about the plans...
Re: Life changing stuff Hi Neil and Karen - thanks for you thoughts, we are thinking of all of you back home as well and hope things are going well.
We may have to organise a big homecoming party so as we can properly meet up with everyone again - no idea when we will see you otherwise, a real lack of functions looming.
Hope all well in the wilds of Scotland!
Love
JNJE
Thanks Sarah Is hard to know what we can do at times, but feel we must do something.
Mad Cover eh - surely should be dying down with yr 11 gone? Still LA plus ca change....
Beavers Camp Glad to hear it went well, and that Louis enjoyed HP - Elliot clearly learnt from us refusing to tell them the endings!
How is the sleep going?
Love to All
Good things Hi Joe and family! How good are the boys going to school abroad and so far away too? Are you asleep when your friends here are at school and vice-versa? Wow just think of all the stories you'll be able to share.
Joe, Nicky (sounds a bit familiar when I've never met you), I think what you are doing is fabulous and as per my e-mail I will try to sort something here.....off to the charity shops this week to buy up childrens clothes.....and Asda for crayons etc. Mad day today with cover but will try and get something sorted soon.
Enjoy yourselves
SARAH
Hi there Hi Guys,
Still loving hearing all your adventures thank you for sharing them. Louis wants Elliot to know he has finished Harry Potter and is glad he didn't tell him the ending, Well done Elliot great restraint. Beaver camp went really well it was glorious weather and apart fronm 100 midgey bites and not washing for 24 hrs it was a wonderful experience. XXXX
Re: Any support we can give Thanks for all Mum, nice to know you are reading!
My memory is that it was WILL not me who bought the chocolates - check with BA and Annie what they remember!
We appreciate what you are doing - Nicky was able to buy the hospital some medicines this morning - she is off to the pharmacies to pay for them, and it appears this is the first money that they have had. Is weird giving and it being that immediate!
I will e-mail my school and see what they might be able to do too!
We all seem OK now and you will see what a good weekend was had!
Any support we can give Soooo lovely to get your updates...we rush to the computer each morning to see whether there is anything new from you lot. You're clearly experiending life 'full on'. We have contacted one or two organisations and are hopeful of a positive response for some aid to assist in the hospital situation out there. I will contact Gigmill, OSHS and Pedmore schools today. Edward has arranged for a 'bucket collection ' to take place at the end of the church services at St Mary's for the next three weeks and Greville will try and make contact with 'your' bishop.
Me? I'm going to have a coffee morning ....if I can find any friends to come?????!!!!
I seem to recall that, when in charge of food for the day with BA, one AJY spent his day's money on Mars Bars, so "Well done Jake and Elliot".
I hope that Nicky and Elliot are fully well again now. Much love, Us.
Re: Dawn Hi Dawn,
thanks for your good wishes, sorry about the poor start to the summer, although sitting here typing, dripping with sweat at 08:15 I am longing for a bit of the cool!
Good luck to you there also
Cheers
Joe

Re: hello Cheers Laura,
sorry about the tears. Glad all going well,
work hard and try and relax a bit in the exms - you usually get so tense that you cannot think to do yourself justice. Stay calm and I am sure you can do well
