HEATHER~! Hey Heather! I've been reading your Blogs but i've only decided to leave a message now, as i can definetly relate to your "english thinking" comment! *LOL* when i was in England i can remember that everything even my dad was saying, ran through my head in an english accent and even when i went to talk sometimes i had to force myself not to say it with the accent.
Although you say the weather was cold few days, i bet it's still WAYY warmer then here! I'm soo jealous :(
I am very glad you finally met friends, it's just too bad you met them this late** I couldn't imagine the silence that surrounded you each day*
Well i am going to go to bed now, and maybe when you get back i will remember to tell you all about the Chris Brown concert i went to (i was just a few feet away from the stage<3 and my friend who performed for his opening got to hang out with him backstage<--- LUCKY)
Bye for Now Heather <3 Remember **Don't Worry, Be Happy**
Heather!!!! I'm SO glad to hear that you're doing better because you were about to make me cry when you were talking about how upset you were that one day. I miss you so much! I'm happy that you've met some people and things are getting better. I love your pictures too, they are amazing! Anyway, back to studying, MISS YOU TONS!!
Love Hillary XOXO
What feeling Sick!! YOU BETTER COME HOME RIGHT NOW. Nah just kidding, but you know how mother's worry. Glad to hear you survived the few days on your own and made a new friend or two. Aussie ice cream eh. Hold of on the superlatives until you get to NZ. Looking forward to hearing about Byron Bay.
Love Mom
Hang in there Hey buddy!! I am sending you a hug over the internet!! Try not to be too lonely and to take in all that you can with every experience. But trust me I do know how you feel about being lonely. On your bad days try to keep yourself busy and checking your email and stuff, even if it makes you sad is a good thing. It will remind you that we are all here thinking of you and that we all love you. I am glad to hear your adventures are continuing. I wish you well and remember to stay safe!! I was at homecoming this past weekend. It was fun. Nice to see people. It is weird not being at Mac anymore!! OH well. Anyways, I lov eyou dearly and miss you lots!! Keep the messages coming. I love to hear about all of your adventures!!!
lovely! Hey buddy! I'm really glad you met some fun new people, it can be rough to be in a new place and feel so... insignificant almost. Really glad to hear that things improved drastically :) (Note to self: don't stay at that hostel!!) I laughed out loud at you thinking in 'British', and could actually picture you trying so hard not to use their words!! (hehe brilliant) Love you tons and tons, thanks for writing so frequently! xoxo Steph

Hey!! Hey Heather - Lisa and I were just sitting here reading your blog, and staring open mouthed at your awesome pictures (Lisa's going crazy about the shark, she LOVES THEM).. your photography skills are awesome! We feel like we're there!! :) We miss you dearly and think that you are so very brave to go off on an adventure by yourself... glad to hear you're coping with the money situation so well. Only thing you're missing... more stories!! We want details woman! Restaurants, cool people, weird people, you know, the juicy stuff!! Keep smiling, stay strong... and in the words of Hal Johnson and Joanne McCloud... keep fit, and have fun! ;) Seemed appropriate considering the Aussie workout fiend phenomenon. xoxoxo Steph and Lisa
money worries are good Heather, you will look back on this money issue and laugh. Its all apart of your adventure. You are probably seeing and doing things you wouldn't experience if you had money at your finger tips. Also... you are saving some money too by being cheap in your first couple of days. Now you will really know what you want to spend money on.
ps. Sorry about not meeting you to say goodbye. The concert ended up going later than expected and it was a chaotic night. But I had such a great time with you at Granddads and I'll be there for your coming home party for suuuure!!!! love you lots. You are my inspiration
wish I was with you Heather, you are so strong. I'm so excited for you. Reading your blog got me very emotional because I know that this adventure will change your life. It will mean so much to you when you look back years down the road. Its truly a milestone in your life. I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you all the time and wondering where you are and what you are seeing. Can't wait to read more. miss you lots.
Hey Heather!
I'm loving reading all your updates, its sounds like you're seeing so many amazing things... nothing much has changed here since you left, its still raining almost every day :(
Im headed to Hamilton tonight to hit up Quarters with Court, and its really making me wish you were here with us! But the memories you're making are definitely worth this time apart, and we'll be here waiting for you when you get back!!!
Have tons of fun, and keep the updates coming!
From the wild west (Edmonton) Hey Heather! I'm a little late on this blogging thing seeing as I must have deleted your email with the blog site on it...oops! (I'm a frazzled grad student, what can you expect!) I really can't believe that you're in Australia and even seeing your pictures it doesn't quite sink in. It all sounds so amazing and like a dream world! I wish I was there with you. I miss you and your advice like crazy, I have to make personal decisions on my own and I'm so lost! Haha...I'm glad you're having an amazing time! Love ya, Hill
Amazing Race okay....so, you've never seen the AMAzing race??? there's one leg where the last team gets all of their money taken away from them and then they remain in the contest, hanging on only by a thread....this should be your goal....you are far more attractive than those in the amazing race and have less of a distance to travel...so, get off your keister and make moves north in Australia with the money you can accumulate...I know its tough...but if there's anyone who can do it, its you! Everyones thoughts are with you.
best of luck.
JB
Missing you! Love the updates from you! I wish I was there with you and in the pics beside you instead of in the library :( I still can't believe that the most organized person I know forgot her bank card....hilarious! I'm just picturing Megan being with you and running after the bugs with a running shoe screaming haha! I'll send you a longer email soon!
Miss you! Hi Heather! What an amazing experience already! What you are doing is incredible and I actually don’t think I completely grasped it until I started reading your blog. There is not much that will beat this experience, so enjoy it to the fullest! Keep the updates coming; they are somewhat of a vacation from school work for me ;) Take care! Aimee
Thanks for the memories Heather........How lovely thay Kathy sent me the info about your blog.....it brings back so many memories of the four years I lived in Sydney.....still love the place...take care....ruby
PS Hope that you and Stef Coward manage to hook up in NZ.
Wow - your already having a great time Hi Heather, bumped into your mom today. She told me your blog was up and running so I googled it and here I am. Thanks for the pictures. Nice pictures on the blog and like how you can add text below them. I have to go to White River for one more week with Scott on Monday as Mandy's Mother passed away last week. There is snow up there...eehh and I have to pull invert samples out of the chilly creeks which are now in flood condition (chestwaders required). Hope your enjoy your bushwalk in the Blue Mountains.
Glad you made it there safe - Keep smil'n.
Ken
Great journal! Great blog Heather! It is so wonderful to sit here and read your account of all you are seeing, smelling, hearing. Thanks esp. for the photo of the jacaranda tree. I absolutely fell in love with these when I saw them. I can't believe how much you are managing to do with no money. Symphony and everything. Good on ya!
Too hot on the beach!! We're saturated in rain here after surviving the great October storm last weekend. 3 days without power. My little campers took it all in stride.
Just wondering how your blog works. Do you have to pay for on-line time? If so, I'll keep my comments brief:)
Are you meeting many fellow travellers yet?
Keep having fun. I think about you every day.
woohoo Hey Heather! Love your pics and Aussie experiences :) I'm actually working with a Native Aussie here in Trinidad who I will share your blog with, he's from Sydney too! Don't stress about the money thing, do you have credit cards?? I have been relying so much on mine to avoid the bank fees anyhow, actually haven't even used my bank card yet (but I exchanged abunch of $ before I left). Keep the posts coming and pics!
Love Kim
Didn't take long for the first call for moneyl! Thanks for kicking off the blog. It's so neat to be able to share all this with you while you're there. As Mom says, the memories just flow back. I also was bumping into people until I figured out you have to walk LEFT when you meet people, not right. By the way, I have to point out that you need to look RIGHT before crossing a street, not left as you mention, or you're dead. How's that for doing the Dad bit! Enjoy all the excitement. You come by your feelings for seeing and experiencing new things naturally. Love Dad
Hello from London Heather I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make it to Toronto to see you off last week but I'm glad to hear that you've made it over without too much of a problem. Keep the updates coming because I love reading about what you're up to while I'm sitting here and studying. Have a great time and take lots of pictures! PS> That was the most organized update I've ever seen from anyone, but I expected nothing less from you! Have fun!
Best of Luck! Heather!
Sorry I missed your "good bye", but I'll keep in touch! And it won't be too long again until we say "welcome back"!
Until then, take care! I'll be checking up on you!
Adam
I love ya Heather!! OH Heather!! How I miss you already!! I will wire you money!! haha!! You are a brave girl not panicking about the money thing. I know I would be going crazy. Have fun and stay safe!!!
So excited for you It is hard to believe that you are walking around the same streets and quays your dad and I were on over 30 years ago. Reading your first entry brought back all sorts of images, smells and memories. We'll get the finances sorted out soon so in the mean time make some great memories. Thanks for the sulfur crested cockatoo pic, listen for the magpies (day) and spurwinged plovers (night).
Love Mom
Wooohoooo!! I'm insanely jealous of you right now! Your pictures are awesome, and Australia sounds amazing from what you've seen so far. Can't wait to hear more from you. Miss ya!
great idea! What a wonderful way to keep in touch with family and friends and to let us share in your excitement and experiences. A shame about your bank card - I would have cried for hours :-( But you will get it all sorted out and hopefully will be able to laugh about it in the years to come.
Grandmum fed herself a scone and tea - she devoured the scone in about 4 bites!! Caitlin and I were terrified that she would choke, but then the three of us couldn't stop laughing about her eagerness (and gluttony) to eat it!!
Keep us updated from your end and we will keep you updated from this end...
Caitlin
