help with prices. Hi there guys. excellent blog. Me and a friend are travelling to Peru next May but need some help working out the budget that we need, From your adventures it seems that travelling by road is not the best option. Can you please advise of the plane tickets from Lima to cusco, and cusco to Puerto Maldonado. Any advice would be much appreciated.
lovely blog
so happy to receive this neat blog- seems a long interval since the last one.
Cool and wet in Vancopuver - dark by 4pm. Winter like. Otherwise all OK. el gm AMB
Looking Good I enjoy Mike's cowboy hat - it is very becoming! Your pictures are amazing and make me jealous every time! I guess I will just have to live vicariously through you guys until school is over! Have fun in Chile!
hi guys, this is amazing!! i talked to emily last night and she sent me this, and i plan to use it for hours of distraction from my dreadful student life. wonderful pictures and witty comments.
memories Hi,
Glad to hear you are enjoying yourselves and staying out of trouble--except the cactus examinations. Lake Titicaca was my fav part of Peru, your pics are making me want to return. Colin are heading to Japan on Nov 9th and I have copied your travel blog idea and am starting one, I'll keep you posted.
Looking forward to hearing about your Bolivia adventures.
Maddy.
Replies A sole = roughly $0.35 (CAD). Now we're in Bolivia and our money is going even further. Our hostel, which is quite nice, costs 30 Bolivianos per night. A Boliviano = about $0.15.
I was having a tough time with the turblence. The pilot flew us in at maybe 500 m above the mountains for about 20 minutes, and it nearly made me sick. I would be a poor astronaught.
Mike
precarious rocks and cacti! So don't touch the cactus. Good to know. Beautiful photos. You make a very convincing argument to go back to Peru. School is becomming more like school. I have lots of work now. But I'm enjoying my time in Van. Take care.
Photos Oh, and did I mention that, by an act of God, all of our pictures were deleted?
It was fortunate that we backed-up most of them, but we lost all of the jungle ones. In fact, the photos shown here were taken in the last hour of our stay there.
the right choice I seriously considered the bus ride when I was there, but was warned off of it. I was told it wasn't even a bus, but a truck. Flying is good. I love the stories. Good luck in the jungle.
boooots! noooo....lost boots- that's no good - did you get them back yet?!? or at all?? Yeah for the jungle! Kimmi and I just had our own fun times in the jungle known as Toronto- great time with Abi and friends... Keep the blogs a comin! Jojo
Holy smokes. Drive shafts are not supposed to break! I wonder what the story is there. That sounds like a very difficult trip.
I hope the rest of your adventure comes off without a hitch.
Love, Ron
hope the next lap is peaceful
This blog sort of gives me the chills - and I'm hoping the next lap of the trip is more peaceful, restful and whatever. You deserve.!

Diabolical Hey there you crazy kids. I'm glad to see that you are having a fantastic time. Could I ask a favour of you guys...I'm doing a project on Peru for an Urban Geography class and I need some pictures of urban centres or Lima and squatter settlements...so, if you ever see any could you take some pictures then post them?!?! That would be wonderful. So, I hope you are both feeling much better now. And Kathleen, you should start a business charging for your picture - you could pay for your entire trip!
Great pictures I'm glad to hear you guys are back on track. Your pictures are very good. I bought a cheap film camera so that I would have some pictures from Buenos Aires.
Today is election day so a lot of things are closed. We are going on a boat ride on the river.
The president of Argentina is trying to get his wife elected to the senate just like Eva Peron. Unfortunately, the old president put his own wife up to run against her. The kicker is that they both belong to the same party. Coming from BC, I can't pretend to be surprised at wierd politics.
I hope you have a great time.
Love, Ron
Mwahahaha You guys make me laugh! Sounds like so much fun. I love that you were charging teenagers to have pictures taken with you, Kathleen. Bummer about your wallet though Mike. Hey Mike? I didn't know you had a thing for Llamas.
One night at Kickboxing Adam (the teacher) was teasing a kid that he had a llama. It was funny.
mmmm...cake Hey Guys, glad to hear that you are having a fabulous time! Kim just gave me your site...it is very cool. Nice hat Kathleen! I actually got one similar to that this summer!! (unfortunately there was no sun to wear it in). Anyways, I hope you are enjoying your bread. Love you!
Irrigation, Nux vs Oilies It's very cool that the old irrigation works still works. Mary Ann says that the Chinese visited them back in the 14th C - evidently they were all over the entire world in giant exploration fleets.
Nux 3, Edmonton 4, by shootout. Both Nazzie and Burt fail to score in the shootout. But Naz now has 4 goals in two games! Weird game, nearly all power play, three (3) 5-on-3 power plays.
I'm guessing that the hockey coverage in Peru is not up to Canadian standards...
love love love to you both I am so relieved to hear from you. first thing I did with this new blog: check out the pictures.
to see you both looking so lovely and well is the most wonderful thing. you are both so beautiful -
(and photogenic). Grandmother and I are really appreciating your updates - thank you and happy Thanksgiving to you both - your photos alone make my Thanksgiving love again, M
