Fantastic photos
The Devil's Cauldron looks great. Those steps you can see down to the mirador look ridiculously steep!

¡Muy interesante!
Great photos, especially the one of you "spread-eagled" across the hemisphere Gerry! You mention La Paz, not sure if you're going to visit Bolivia but if you are try to get a visit inside the prison (San Pedro). I read a book a few years ago entitled "Marching Powder", written by an Aussie by the name of Rusty Young. It's a true account of an English guy, Thomas McFadden, who got caught trying to smuggle cocaine out of Bolivia - one of the best books I've read. Rusty's a journalist who actually lived inside the prison for three months with Thomas while he wrote the book. Apparently you can arrange a visit inside the prison, it's even advertised in Lonely Planet... Wish I was there, I'm looking at going back to Mount Isa in a few weeks :(

Patagonia
Some beautiful pics that will remind u of how beautiful the place is - it seems to treat visitors as it will & the flu will just be part of the Patagonia experience. I got tonsillitis down there & it did take the shine off while. Now that will be all behind u & into warmer weather. Look forward to the lakes area. Had a bit of chuckle about yr BA Experience - told u to watch out - rogues all around. Glad Ruth caught on. Enjoy.

Jealous
Sounds fantasic, except for the virus... The hiking's right up my street, perhaps in better weather though! Looking at your blog has given me itchy feet. Just booked a flight to Mallorca for October. Just 2 weeks to catch up with my folks there - they'll fly in from Edinburgh. Should have booked one way and traveled the Canaries for 6 months, it's on my 'to do list'. Currently still employed so not really feasible - ¡desgraciadamente! Stay safe and hopefully you'll be feeling back to normal soon guys...

Swiss chalet? I hope there was no Swiss there - I hate the Swiss!! Sorry - been through Zurich airport a couple of times, and wandered around the city in between flights - not impressed! I'm off to Tassie on Tuesday, I bet it's even warmer there than Puerto Montt. ¡Disfrutad!

By all means follow along & happy to receive your comments but I don’t expect to have much free time to further respond. Very impressed with your blog and eloquent prose but mine is not intended to meet those heights but merely to stay in contact.
