Roger and Wendy’s BIG ADVENTURE Bobbie writes Looking for the adventures of the Americans they decided to attempt the likes of Lake Lanier. As their adventures into Lake Lanier began Webster and Tazzy were greatly saddened by the prospect that they could not experience the Brits of the day, but I will tell you that Wendy had NO FEAR in regards to driving the boat at 35 miles per hour, particularly shooting one of the arches of a bridge over the lake. In the morning we went for a walk in the local park and watched the boys playing baseball. It was just like watching boys playing football in England with plenty of screaming parents. The day was finished with a delightful evening at Frank and Sherry’s having a southern barbeque of pork and beans. Plenty of wine was also drunk. We left Cofton Church Lane when our taxi arrived at 9.00 and had a smooth trip to Heathrow on Train and Bus via Watford. After going through security checks which included removing our shoes (eventually it will probably be a requirement to take all your clothes off) and taking the laptop out of its case, we boarded the aircraft on time but our takeoff slot was delayed so we were an hour late leaving. This gave us very little time to change planes at Chicago including moving to a different terminal. But with help from some of the airport staff both us and our luggage made it and James was at the luggage carousel at Atlanta to whisk us away to the house where we had a very warm welcome at 11.30 local time from Bobbie ... read more
