Travel wish lists... Your descriptions of your experiences are fantastic, as are your photos - they took me right back to Italy. My younger self didn't write down my travel wish lists, and so I think I've conveniently 'forgotten' the things that I don't wish to do now... :)
Slack blocker, me! I guess if you're writing about your adventures from a year ago, I don't have to feel so bad about being so behind in my blogging though I'm even worse--thanks so much for asking. So sorry you didn't enjoy the jump--I'd imagined you'd conquered your fear and then reveled in your new freedom. How wise that you realized you don't need to do that again and can just trust that inner voice.
Fab photos, fearless one! Congrats on conquering a fear, which is no mean feat! I'm a fearless nutcase, but I really appreciate the courage it takes for a regular person to jump into Devil's Pools and walk on ledges. Glad you were able to take your partner back, so he could share your passion, and maybe your planning for your next African adventure.
The funny thing is I knew I was being completely irrational but I couldn't change the way I felt... I did not enjoy it at all!! haha! I haven't seen anything from you for a while, but I am sure you must be still out there somewhere..... Looking forward to your next blog x
Nice, I too felt the same way about Uganda, and when I mention my feelings to anyone that has not been to Africa, they just don't understand. Us that have been, get it.
As always a bloody awesome blog entry!!!! If you don\'t add \"Writing a Book or Travel Journal\" to your bucket list I will be disappointed! Loved the bit about Mark intending to write a sharp long letter to the Italian Tourism Board! I think I must claim that influence on him .... and to think he\'d poo poo my long complaint letters! Hah@!!!!!!!
Can\'t wait to see you both, though I can imagin how sad you must be feeling as this lifetime adventure draws to a close. I\'m thinking it can\'t be long until you board you 5pm flight from Johannesburg to Sydney :( It will be very hard to kiss this likestyle goodbye that\'s for sure. I remember having the same feelings when we got back after our 3 month backpacking adventure.
I\'m so glad you got to experience this together, it will all be talked about for the rest of your lives and that\'s not a bad thing. It will bring bouts of laughter between your both forever. Very proud (and ever so jealous) of both of you XXXXXXX
Dreams do come true! You two are adorable in the gondola--how wise and romantic to have splurged (I didn't). Your photos brought back lovely memories--that walk along the Cinque Terra was one of my favorites ever. Glad you got to saturate yourselves in grand adventures before the Segway incident--best wishes on that swelling going down soon. Salud e ciao!
Beautiful writing Em Love your blog Em . You could get paid to write travel blogs. So entertaining I love how u described Venice Its exactly how it was for us too Enjoy rest of ur adventure Love Ree
Travel creates difficult decisions Those wines would have been wonderful but we would have made the same choice you did. We long to see the falls. Awe and wonder..... great feelings.
We loved our time in Amsterdam The master Van Gogh is good reason to find yourself in Amsterdam. A great city of canals. I posted one of your photos in the beers around the world forum for every one to enjoy!
I was surprised to hear the drinking age in Germany is 18... when I visited the Hofbrauhaus in Munich in 1968, young children were drinking beer with their parents. When I lived there from 1977 to 1984, I don't recall a drinking age...perhaps 16 as it was in Belgium where I lived from 1984 to 1995. Actually, there doesn't seem to be an issue with a drinking age as most kids grow up drinking beer and wine so don't feel the need to get smashing drunk when they reach a certain age like the kids in the States.
The Europeans are much saner with their laws. I live in Colorado where recreational use of marijuana is now legal. However, individual cities can ban the sale in their jurisdiction. As a city council member I voted to allow the sale, but was in the minority.
A few years ago I found my passion for travelling - experiencing different places and meeting new people has opened my mind in ways I never thought possible. These are my experiences, my thoughts and my feelings.

Great shot Emma. I reckon it's listening to the incredible silence of the Salar...or can it hear something we cannot?
