Bbq on table sounds fun. Don't fancy eating snake. I imagine it to be tough. We had crocodile at Carnivore in Jo'burg. I don't think I liked it much. Look forward to seeing more photos. Dad and I went to W. Wittering yesterday as sun shone for first time for ages. It was very pleasant. Not too bad today although a bit autumnal. Love Mum.
Always take a head torch!!!! Have been offline so just catching up on blog! Now you know why I say "always take a head torch - an essential when travelling in the east because you just never know!Love you both loads!
Hope power was restored. don't like the sound of your visits today but I suppose you have to see such sights to appreciate their history and culture. Hopefully Tuesday's tours will be more cheerful.
Reply Thankyou for all the comments, glad you are enjoying the blog! Have qute a good tan now but ot sure how long it will last because its not so sunny on mainland, still very hot but cloudy. Can not inagine Daniel at school!!!
Sounds like you're lucky with Betty's guest house. It must be good to see friendly faces in a strange place. Hope future travel arrangements prove more reliable. Look forward to next entries. Makes interesting reading. Daniel started school today also Katie at nursery school. Both loved it.
Bungalow sounds good. warm sea must be wonderful. Could do with some of that! Didn't know plankton stung. Was it bad? Sunsets like Mortehoe? You must have quite a tan by now.
Sounds quite magical. You must be getting used to being on water. Food sounds wonderful. It must be so fresh. Very envious of all the seafood. How hot is the weather? Have you been burnt? Hope you can do something special for your birthday on Saturday, although it all sounds pretty special to me! Look forward to next entry. I look every day. At least you're missing all our terrible weather. Love from Mum.
Arrived in Saigon Just to let you know we have arrived safely in Saigon after a horrible 12 hour bus journey during the day with air con which occasionally worked and the rest of the time it blew hot air out. We are pretty tired so are going to bed. We will try and get up to date with the blog asap! xx
Hanoi No i didnt like the room much, felt quite homesick that night, was missing home comforts. It was a bit overwhelming coming into such a busy city from quite a quiet one and at night as well. We booked our ticket out of Hanoi that night because i wanted to get away from it. After coming back from our trip to Ha Long Bay i felt a lot better, more relaxed and quite enjoyed looking round the city during the day! xx
just waded through the latest entries. some of the journeys sound v scary. i don't like the sound of your room in Hanoi. I wouldn't have been able to sleep. New photos are excellent. love Mum. [R's]
Photos We have finally uploaded some photos although not many because all of the computers we have come accross are so slow! So enjoy the few that we put up and look forward to more when we get back! xx
Nice to see you are still having a good time Shame on you for not going through, although it must have been pretty scary! Sounds like the trip down the river was fun: I think I would enjoy doing that.
Keep the diary going: its nice to hear from you and know what you are doing.
Mum and Dad
Photos and blog Sorry we are so behind on the blog. We have been writing a diary so we just need to transfer it to the net! We also have loads and loads of photos so hopefully we will upload some soon, keep your comments coming! xx
tigers Apparently they are docile because they are nocturnal - not sure howmuch of that i beleive though! When we went near them one of the guides hadto holdour hand the wholetime. There was one tiger who was pacing around in circles which everyone was taking a wide path when they went past it!
Good time Glad to see you are having such a good time. Keep the commentary up, especially the pictures: we are very envious. Enjoy and see you soon. Mum and DAd
Looks like your having an amazing time already!! Hope your both omk and keep uploading those pics (although its making everyone back home very enivous!) Take care xx
Finishing university, settling down, getting a job and a mortgage, it all seems a little too fast for my liking! So in an effort to delay the inevitable the decision was made to simply disappear for a few months...to go and see the world!
The plan is to begin in the famous travellers haven, Thailand. We then head North and into Laos, travel down through Vietnam, across Cambodia before venturing South through Malaysia and home from Singapore. The schedule is tight at 52 days and no doubt we will have to bypass some of the sights, but you can't do everything!
We fly out on the 11th August... full info
