Thanks for Sharing Your trip of a lifetime was a joy to follow. Great narrative, great photos, great experiences.
Can't wait to see you guys when I get back to San Diego.

Petra These pictures are awesome, I'm going to Petra in a couple weeks and I hope my pictures are as good as yours.
By the way, it was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade that was filmed in Petra.
Montana in my bones I not only wear Montana under my skin -- the landscape is in my bones. Transplanted temporarily to the lush state of Pennsylvania, my heart often yearns for the wide open spaces, spectacular mountain views, and dry western air. Thank you, Nico, for capturing Hannah's re-entry experience to Montana as an adult. As long as we have property and a home in Montana, it is your home also. Love, Mom
Laughing through tears A note from a close friend:
"
Nico's narrative and the gorgeous photos perfectly capture the ambivalence that native Montanans....those who "get out and make it"....all wear just under their skin. And, as you see from Nico's description of Virginia City, "it" rubs off on those who love us.
Are we of two minds about our native home? Or of two hearts? Or is it a split between the rational mind that is chagrined by the smallness of the parochial culture and the heart that opens to the generous warmth of the people. And then plunk it all down in the most gorgeous places. No wonder we are all psychotic! Here's a warning: it only gets harder as you get older.

keep the blog going! I don't know about anyone else, but I would love to see this blog continue on through your U.S. travels! In fact, the rest of your lives??
Awesome! Love the photos! Thanks for sharing now. I thought I'd have to wait until you got back. Your faithfulness with the blog is simply mind-boggling and greatly appreciated.
Love Bolivia! and love YOU!
Hugs, M
A Bolivian Safari The Land Cruiser reminded me of our Ethiopian safari. Coincidentally, the Bolivian flag has the same colors as the Ethiopian, only reversed (Green, Yellow, Red) and with a star in the middle. Check it out: http://www.ethioworld.com/CountryInformation/ethiopianflag.htm Wow, those photos are awesome!
Keep having fun!
Love you. Mary
I am from Cyprus Hello, I am a student and we had to do an exercise on travel blog and I chose you guys because you went to Cyprus and I'm from there.
I love my island and I hope you liked it!!!
Greece greece is one of the most beautifiul places in the world im happy that you to enjoyed it so much. If you want to see some other islands you should definitely go to mykonos which is as beautiful or even more than san torini and it also has an amazing nightlife and some wonderfull beaches....
Editorial comment: political unrest in Bolivia in September An editorial comment regarding our experience in Bolivia in September 2008: I'm not sure that the American Embassy was "attacked", but the American Ambassador was kicked out of Bolivia and the State Department was removing our Peace Corps contingent, many of whom showed up at our hotel in Tarija, Bolivia where we doing a Habitat build. Tarija was blockaded and the airport was closed for several days running, but it was more of a peaceful protest by students and the middle class, and there was NO violence against Americans. We just all thought it best to take up our Habitat hosts' offer to leave the country via a private bus and go south into Argentina. Hence we arrived at the Castillo de San Lorenzo, credit cards in hand, and had a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to Argentina.
Get the DVD "The Mission" This note is for all Hannah and Nico's friends who are reading the blog: rent the movie "The Mission" and you'll get a great story of the Jesuits and a mission they began in the mid-1700's at Iguazu Falls. The indigenous people in the movie are just that - NOT actors. The scenery and the story is fascinating...a chapter in history that many people don't know about. I was so enthralled that I also watched the DVD commentary.
Hello Hey Hannah and Nico,
I was just thinking of your two and wondering where you were.
Hope you are being enriched in how amazing this world is, and
the different people that call the lands you visit, their "home"
May God's love, consume you,
Hugs,
T

What camera are you all using? Hey ya'll - great post and I am glad you are enjoying being back in the Western Hemisphere! Myself and Theresa are going to Paris in April for honeymoon and wondered - what type of camera are you using on your adventure? We would like to get one like it since your pics are always really good.
a year already?! Uruguay looks gorgeous! Ha, I love your description of the Corona. I'm so excited that we'll be seeing you guys again soon, but I can't imagine how it must feel to come back (sad?) after traveling around the WORLD. I'm sure someone already suggested this, but you guys should make a book out of your blog. And maybe a series of slideshow parties?!
Have a blast in South America!!
Post-surgery tango!! Great pics from Argentina and Uruguay. I wasn't in Argentina long enough to see some Tango, so I'm glad you guys showed me what it's about. Only I'm too old for that kind of surgery!
I toast YOU TWO and the new year ahead for my favorite global citizens.
Love, Mom
