singapore regarding your comment on imprisonment or fine for chewing gum and discarding litter in singapore. the penalty for the above is only a small fine for petty littering ect definitely not imprisonment! law enforcement in singapore is not that extreme. i lived in singapore as an expat for eight years up until 2001 and the only harsh law enforcement i recall was the incident where a young american boy, micheal fay, was caned for vandalising private property. i found living in singapore, particularly as a woman, to be a very safe and pleasant experience for myself and my four teenage children and as you said, shopping is great! a shoppers paradise.
Easter Island I enjoied your TravelBlog about Easter Island, although the story about the original inhabitants is very sad, especially the bit about them destroying each others Moai.
Looks like a great cruise itinery.
Hi Mary and Dick:
I am enjoying your trip. I wish that I could be there with you to enjoy all of these new experiences. I love to travel to other countries.
Keep safe.
Great Photography Did not receive notice about your first journal but I am now caught up with you trip from LA to the Galapagos. Sounds like all is going well and that you both are having a great time. Dick has really done a great job in photographing the sights. Is this the new camera? I thoroughly enjoyed your journal so far and think that you are not missing anythiung here at home except the craziest winter ever. We have record highs in the 60's and then lots of rain.
Continue writing, we look forward to hearing about your travels.
Congratulations! Well, you've made it through the 1st year, which is supposed to be the most difficult. But since you have been cruising most of the year, what could be hard about it??? Anyway, its wonderful to get your blogs, and follow along on your trips. Thank you so much for keeping me on the list. I will be cruising the Med. and the Greek Isles this summer, hope it is as much fun as yours have been. Love, Ann
