We are from Calgary, Canada. We love to travel and thought a blog would be a fun way to share our travels with family and friends. Now where shall we go....
Stopped in Dubai for a couple of days on the way home. A bustling city and pretty amazing with all the building going on. Mark of course had to go skiing even though it was 29C outside and -4C inside on the indoor ski hill. I passed going and watched instead. No broken legs so we can go home safely now!... read more
Didn’t get to Robyn Island as the water was too rough and the ferry was cancelled. This is the island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. So instead we hung around the waterfront and had a nice day. The next day we drove out to Cape of Good Hope. The wind was howling and you could easily imagine ships crashing into the rocks as they tried to go around the cape many years ago. We also drove Chapman’s Peak Drive which is considered one of the most beautiful marine drives in the world and it was pretty good!... read more

That one egg is equal to 24 chicken eggs and takes over 2 hours to harsh boil it. They eat rocks that stay in their stomach to help bring up food. They have super soft feathers. I got to hold a 2 day old ostrich. Very cute! Actually had a ostrich fillet for dinner last night ( with a little guilt) tasted not like chicken but beef.... read more
We are now in Melkbosstrand which is a suburb of Cape Town. It has a beautiful beach. The weather is still good but windy. Went on a tour of Cape Town and the highlight was Table Mountain. Went up in a gondola. We had a clear day. We will be back in Cape Town for Couple of days at the end of our trip.... read more
After getting the car we headed about an hours drive out of Cape Town to a pretty town called Franschhoek. Very trendy town with lots of restaurants and shops and tons on vineyards near by. Stayed in a cool B&B called the Roundhouse. Went on a Wine tram tour to 3 wineries. Came away with a liking of a type of wine called Pinotage. A wine only made in South Africa.... read more
Today we said goodbye to our motorhome. After 7000 km it was hard to pack up especially because we had stuff all over the place. We also said good bye to our traveling companions which was a bit hard as they had become good friends. We had many good adventures together. After dropping off the motorhome we went and picked up a car for the next 12 days to travel along the Garden Route. Our first stop in wine country.... read more
