Light filters in to my dreams. I slowly wrestle my eyes open. Sleep has been hard to come by and I notice the sheets piled on the floor, remnants of a restless slumber. Then it hits me. Today is the day. After a year of literally slaving over a hot stove, months of planning and years of dreaming, the arrival of this sun brings with it the taste of travel. I pounce out of bed and attack the day like a bull to red cloth. I breathe for the first time that year, releasing all the confinements of social pressures, the tediousness of an unloved routine and the growing feelings of confusion and apprehension.
