But first, some pics of our first Northern hemisphere Christmas. For people like us from the bottom of the world, Christmas is associated with summer, families & friends, BBQs, beaches, long sunny nights, pohutukawa trees… you get my drift. So one of the biggest culture shocks is a dark, cold wintry Christmas - away from most friends & family.
