DAY 1 Arriving in Hong Kong bright and early, we dumped our stuff in the hotel in Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island and soon set off on a quest to find the massive Bhudda statue on the island of Lantau. Taking the subway, which bears more than a few similarities to London's tube network, we headed for Tuong Chung and then took the cable car ride, with panoramic views of all Hong Kong's islands, up to Ngong Ping- a shamelessly touristy place complete with Starbucks and souvenirs aplenty. After photo-taking and a slight confrontation at the monastery with a Bhuddist monk and his 'no entry' sign, we grabbed some noodles before heading back to Central.
