Thus, whoever is in charge up there hasn't let anybody go since the New Year (at least up to when we were there). We were willing to stick around a little longer, but it didn't seem to be getting any better, so we moved on.
Tongariro Crossing Love reading your journals even tho' I don't know you at all. I'm confused about the Tongariro Crossing remark. Were you unable to go on the trek at all, or did the guide cancel on you?

Yes, I wish there were enough hours in the day for me to accurately retell the proposal from Ryan in this space. Seriously, it was very sweet and we are both happy. And now WE'RE out. Bye!
When we first hooked up in '94, we talked about traveling around the world before we hit 30, the deadline distant and hazy. Now that we can see it all too clearly, we figured we better get in gear. So we set out from Chicago with seven months to traverse the globe and hopefully make it back in one piece. This blog will chronicle our journey.
