Two relaxing slow boats up the Mekong Delta across the border and into Cambodia, a minibus and a tuk tuk later, we arrived in central Phnom Penh. We checked in and were so relieved to hear, well, nothing! No bibbing, no cockerals, no prayer calls, no music, no cows. Ahh, bliss! We joined a couple we'd met on the slow boat for a highly recommended 'proper' steak and chips. It wasn't exactly in the spirit of trialling the local delicacies on the first night but it was damn good grub! Stomachs happy, and having spent a relatively high proportion of time in the haven that was our bedroom in Vietnam, we were ready to get out and see what Phnom Penh had to offer.
