Yesterday (3rd February) we decided to act like the true tourists we are and explore Aucklands town centre and the viaduct by foot. We browsed through some shops on Queen Street (the main high street) before heading towards the Sky Tower, Aucklands most renowned landmark. It is the Southern Hemispheres tallest structure at 328m and can be seen practically wherever you are in the city. After a short lift journey to the viewing platform at the top we were greated with stunning 360 views. It was a beautiful, clear day and we could see the entire city, the surrounding suburbs and as far as Rangitoto and Waihiki island in the distance.
