We had an 11 hour stop over in Washington so decided we should hop on a bus into the city and check out some of the famous sights. After the ¨incredibly friendly¨ welcome we received from the immigration officer (we both decided he must really hate his job, the miserable b!) we set foot outside the airport into 4 inches of snow and -4 degrees (ish) temps. Brrr! It would seem that the special friendship Britain shares with the States also extends to the weather! We spent several hours walking around the city, seeing Capitol Hill with Capitol House on top (not much of a hill, mind), the Washington Memorial, The White House and the Lincoln Memorial.
