Recently I went to New York City with my family to see the Broadway show, Wicked. We had a couple hours before the show so we walked the streets, popping in and out of stores in Times Square. I am constantly amazed the few times I’ve been to New York City. The people, perpetual action, noise, and visual stimulations are innumerable. Everything is as big, tall, and exciting as possible. All of the advertisements are for the latest, newest, fastest, best pieces of technology that are available now. Continually advancing technology certainly has its benefits- whether it be in medicine, transportation, communication, the education system, etc. However, I could not help but wonder where should we draw the line between industry that is helpful and that which is sheer excessive.
