I got your postcard today! I am so jealous of all the art you've gotten to see already. Oh the Rembrants, they just aren't the same on slides... I did get to see one or two when I was in high school and went to D.C. but in Amsterdam!
I really enjoyed your postcard. The painting and then what you wrote on the back made me think of our conversations when it comes to religion in general. I miss those talks! I anxiously await the next update on the Groelz Express!
Wow! That's pretty cool kiddo! I don't know much about the places your visiting, but I'm quite jealous! Do you think you're going to be able to stay in Germany/Austria past your schooling?
I hope so, as it would give me a chance to come and see you!
Take care, I'll write more later.
Jon
Pretzels Remind me to make you some of my German pretzels when you get home. And they are made by hand, recipe from my grandmother. Have a great time on break. Love, Fay
Baking... Maybe you should see if you can spend more time in that bakery. You could work there on those days that you have a little time to kill, but not enough time to travel. Like a rainy afternoon where you have an hour or two and no plans...You could feed yourself pretty well if you swapped them an hour of work for a loaf of bread and some breakfast pastries or quiche...do they do quiche there? It was among my favorite bakery items in New Zealand. Besides, think of all the cool baking skills you'd learn! You can come back and teach me any and all of that stuff!
LY Kiddo! Keep the pictures and stories coming!

Amsterdam When I was is Amsterdam in 1954 I spent several nights in a hotel call t"Ye Olds Nickel"or something like that. If it's still there have a beer for me!
:) Sounds like you have been having a great time! That Criminal Museum sounds awsome... something I would have really enjoyed seeing. :) Your mini-vacation sounds like it is going to be alot of fun. Have a great trip and I can't wait to hear all about it.
Roses Hi Annie,
The rose looks so fresh I think I can almost smell it. Got a Skype from Michael this morning who says you have made plans with him for this Christmas season. Good. I am enjoying your mesages so keep them coming.

The town looks absoluetly beautiful. Though I wouldn't want to have to have spiders everywhere. :P I suppose it is a small price to pay though for all of the other experience you are having. :D
I head back to school next week and am going to miss you. I get to go back and see everyone else... but no Annie. Which means no walking/talking buddy. I'm going to miss our late night walks to talk.
photos I'm very impressed with your photographic skills! The pictures add so much to the delightful travel log. I'm curious to know if this blog program makes it easy to add the photos, with captions. I assume so. I'm SUCH a technophobe!
XO, Karen

Nearby Cities That reminds me Annie, when you make it to Austria, Owen Day is in Slovakia about 30mins away from you by riverboat. He says you can just hire a boat and be there in a half an hour...he'll be there for a while so I'm sure you'll see him!
LY,
Jon
Annie,
I signed up to be notified when you add to your blog, so I am keeping up on your comings and goings. Very enjoyable and I'm learning a lot from your travelings. Keep up the good work !!
:) That church is beautiful... did you get to see the inside of it? I bet that if the outside was that intricate then the inside much have been absolutely breath-taking. The toy places sounds pretty cool as well. Hopefully turning that brass ring will bring you some good luck.
It was great hearing about your weekend adventures! Glad you are having a good time. :) Miss you.
Gluck! Nurnberg looks beautiful. I'm not sure it qualifies as a close town, if it took you a couple of hours by train, but you're doing what I would...traveling on the weekends. Good for you.
Sounds like we're going to have to perfect spaetzel making when you get back. Glad you're having fun. Love, Mom
huh ? I am not going to post here since alot of decent folks posted here. Oh wait, by posting this I violated my post about not posting here. Hope you are having the time of your life :)
I've been in Europe for three months now, and still have 3 more to go. I'm a 5th year senior with one semester left before I graduate, and what better way to spend it than by studying abroad? Predominantly I'll be in Germany and Austria, but will be taking in sights and sounds all over Europe. This blog is intended to keep friends and family updated about my adventures overseas. I hope everyone enjoys my blog and keeps in touch!... full info
