Thank you for your blog! Hello Alexandra, Just a note to say hi and happy worldwide adventures! I enjoyed reading a little bit about your life in Tanzania. Our daughter is 26 and about to head there for a similar journey this August. She shared your blog on her Facebook and I was intrigued. Have a wonderful day you little adventurer...if you are still in Tanzania in August, you could show her around!! Her name is Linnea Rose Smith. Take care, ruthie ps God loves you and i said a prayer for you today! (I love your photo where you are sipping something in the dusk...makes us all want to join you there)
Brought back great memories Ales - again - a wonderful narrative of yet another amazing adventure with sister Denia - must say can't wait to get back to Africa once more to again experience its magic. Miss you and am sending you lots of love and hugs.

How cool! hey hun, looks like a brill trip. Very jealous. I spent the whole of Christmas/New Years sitting on my ass and scoffing chocolates... and lots of booze of course! Was lovely and chilled though. Feels like a life time ago now. Boo. Keep the tales of adventure coming! x

Oh yes, it sounds familiar Hi Alex. I am Nora's friend who met you at the pool one day after my Kili climb and before yours. I appreciate your description and am especially happy to have some more pictures to share with my less adventurous friends who can't really imagine the pain and anguish of a Kili climb. Summit or not, it is something not to be forgotten! Thanks for sharing....
Way to Go! It's so neat to see stories of other climbers shared through words AND pictures. I really enjoyed looking through all of the different stages/days of your hike.
I can only imagine what altitude sickness would have been like. Ugh!
I found a post on K2- thought you might want to check it out. Maybe that can be your next climb (and if it is, please do take more pictures!) Cheers!

Wow! Holy cow girl, you are a rock star!!! Wow wow wow!!! I was literally moved to tears reading this. I really admire you for listening to your body and making the trip your own. I am absolutely your climbing groupie and I have to say, I'm a little in awe...and totally, totally impressed!
Your hair Aweeeeesome...what a great thing to do (and it looks gorgeous short) -- thanks for the update, I was just thinking of you the other day and wondering how it was going. Enjoy the rest of your time off!
When I graduated from University in December 2004, with my Master's and Bachelor's Degree, I decided that I wasn't ready to settle into a lifetime job in the U.S.A. Instead, I went to an International School Job Fair, and am now traveling the world, one International School at a time! I speak English, French, and Dutch, have learned Italian while living in Switzerland, and can't wait to pick up more languages along the way. I teach Upper Elementary Grades, and love working with children. I'm using this site as a way to stay connected with friends and family both from home, and that I've m... full info
