These last 7 days in Bangkok have been insane. The minute we arrived, we were approached by men dressed in yellow polo’s and navy blazers asking if we need a taxi. They looked professional enough, so we said “yes” and they whisked us off to the side, charged 900 baht, and then tried to sell us a “complimentary” tour of Bangkok for only 400 baht. We declined the “complimentary” tour and were quickly escorted outside past the real taxis to a group of about 10 Thais surrounding us and grabbing our luggage. We got in a car without a meter or any documentation (that I have since seen in all taxis) with a young man who did not speak a lick of English.
