After a very uncomfortable 8 hour over night bus ride, I arrived in Trujillo. Instead of staying in Trujillo I decided to stay in a hostel in Huanchaco, a beach side village about 20min outside of Trujillo. The hostel I stayed at was right on the beach, and it served really good expresso coffee - something I didn’t get much of in Ecuador. I meet another Aussie girl in the hostel and we decided to check out the Chan Chan ruins. Built around AD 1300 and covering 28 sq km, Chan Chan is the largest pre-Columbian city in the Americas, and the largest adobe (mud brick) city in the world.
