... quite interesting that paprika oil was used - normally, we would associate paprika with European cooking, not Asian.

... our banh xeo didn't look so hot, but at least tasted better than their appearances suggested. They were shaped more like a blob, than the perfect half-circles they should have been, and were chewier than we would have liked.

... interesting flavours, with the addition of fruit such as pineapple and tamarind.

... the best item at the cooking class might have been this egg coffee produced by Thien. She whipped and frothed up an egg, pouring it over top of a sweet, rich Vietnamese coffee. It sounds odd, but had such a creamy and rich body to it, that it felt more like dessert than coffee.
