China and Vietnam review

So, we thought you might be interested to see a quick review of China and Vietnam. We provided one of these for Japan and S.Korea, so seems only right to keep up with these.

China

* Number of days spent in the country = 22

* Number of towns/cities visited = 9

* Favorite city = Chris - Hong Kong and Gemma Yangshuo

* Favorite food = Chris - Hot Pot and Gemma steamed buns

* Favorite thing we did = Chris - cycling in Yangshuo and Gemma climbing the Great Wall of China

* Best place we stayed = Chris - Panda Apartment in Chengdu and Gemma plush hotel in Guangzhou

* Most unexpected = Chris - having beard groped on underground and Gemma being given a random baby for a photo op at the Panda Sanctuary in Chengdu

* Most unusual food we ate = Where do we start? Chris - Yak scalp and Gemma sea worm



Vietnam

* Number of days spent in the country = 22

* Number of towns/cities visited = 8

* Favorite city = Chris and Gemma - Hoi An

* Favorite food = Chris - BBQ fish in banana leaf and Gemma shrimp spring rolls

* Favorite thing we did = Chris - Hai Van Pass motorbike trip and Gemma Halong Bay boat trip

* Best place we stayed = Chris and Gemma the hotel in Hoi An. It had a pool!!!

* Most unexpected = Chris - having pocket grabbed by a person on a motorbike as they whizzed past in Hanoi. They didn't knick anything. Gemma - sharing her beach towel with a dog with massive testicles in Nah Trang

* Most unusual food we ate = Chris - doesn't really count because this wasn't eaten, but seeing a whole dog on a BBQ spit. Gemma - Fish with passion fruit sauce - it just doesn't work.




Hope this provides a decent summary of our likes/dislikes so far.
