Long journey

We got a 12 hr bus from the peaceful beaches to the crazy town of Saigon. The boarder crossing was without incident except for some idiot British lad dressed head to foot in army clad who was carrying a lighter in the shape of a gun and the officials were not too impressed - surprise surprise.
We eventually left with a disgruntled idiot but we had no sympathy. We arrived in the city at about 7pm in the teaming rain. As hardened travelers we have become we avoided all the touts and marched to the backpackers area of town.
With my somehow developed negotiation skills we managed to get a room for $5 per night - bargain.
