Another road trip, this time only 4 hours long, and mainly along the coast which gave us a glimpse of a different way of life, with fish farms, lots of fishing boats - and most fascinating of all, the fishermen casting their nets from coracles.

We had a few stops along the way: a fantastic viewpoint, ‘marble mountain’ where they sculpture statues, and my favourite China Beach, which was a beautiful beach with endless golden sand. Unfortunately the red flags were flying, so we only had a paddle. China Beach is where the Americans used to go for R&R.

Our hotel in Hoi An is lovely, and best of all it has a pool. So, after a well deserved dip, we went on an ‘orientation’ walk around the town which is a World Heritage site.

We’re looking forward to having our own R&R in Hoi An for the 2 days we’re here - it’s a really pleasant, pretty town on the river. Hoi An is famous for its tailors’ shops, and we are still debating whether to have anything made ... looks like there may be some shopping done here!!
