Believe it or not Christmas is just around the corner.


Would you like to support the Lifestart Foundation Workshop initiative in Hoi An, Vietnam? You can help us by ordering some of your Christmas gifts from our makers. The makers will individually make each item with care and love and will be very grateful for your support.


The non-profit workshop focuses on creating handmade arts and crafts to help support those living in challenging situations in Vietnam.
The entire proceeds from these products go directly to the workshop members to provide a sustainable income stream and sense of independence.


I am returning to Vietnam on September 22nd for five weeks.


For those of you who live in Australia I would be happy to bring back any orders you place from our Lifestart Foundation Workshop. If you would like to support the Lifestart Foundation Workshop initiative in Hoi An you can order Christmas gifts before I leave and I will get the workshop members to make your order during my stay and carry them back with me at the end of October. If you live in Melbourne you can pick up the order from my house in Essendon or I can post orders within Australia for the normal postage costs.

All products are labour intensive and take each workshop member a long time to make. Each item is tagged with the makers photograph and brief story about them which makes each item very personal and special.

MAI
Mai makes denim bags from recycled new jeans. Two designs are availble. Linings and belts vary. Nominate colour tones and design when ordering and we will try our best to accommodate.

DENIM BAG
Recycled Denim Bags.
A manufacturer had donated a large amount of denim shorts and jeans to Lifestart Foundation....being that the shorts were a little too sexy for Vietnamese taste, we found a pattern to turn them into funky bags.
This design is a shoulder bag with belt. The second design is made of 8 fringed denim panels with colourful lining and side inserts.

NGUYEN
Nguyen makes quirky sock creatures and sock people that travel the world.

EDDIE & MARGIE
These adorable sock creatures and sock people are made by Nguyen. They are all different and have their own unique personality. Each have a name and this can be personalized for you when ordering.

BILLY & FRIENDS
Waiting at the workshop for a new home. We treat each sale as an adoption and track where each sock creature or sock person is travelling to around the world. Nguyen loves this idea. Her creations are in Ireland, Austria, South Africa, Singapore, America, England, Sweeden, Denmark, Australia and Korea ( to name a few of the countries.)

LUONG
Luong makes beautiful woolen scarves.

LUONG'S SCARVES
One design, three colours. Black, White and Mushroom.
Size 12cm wide 176cm long

HANH
Hanh knits lovely scarves. Each scarf takes Hanh at least 20 hours to make.

HANH
Hanh scarves are in earth tones, white, black, blue and green. Designs vary depending on the wool. They are all beautiful.

HOA
Hoa makes Au Dai bookmarks.

AO DAI BOOKMARK
Promoting recycling whenever possible, this bookmark is made entirely from scraps! (scrap paper from note cards, scrap silk from wine bottle bags). Colours available Red, Green, Blue, Pink and Purple. Click on the bookmark to enlarge.

NGHE
Nghe makes Buddha Coin bookmarks.

BUDDHA COIN BOOK MARK

Chau makes beautiful silk wine bottle bags.

Wine Bottle Bags made from Vietnamese silk patterned with the symbols of "long life" and "happiness" (by Chau), the neck decorated with hand carved lanterns or wine glasses(by Tu). Comes with the KEEP THE BOTTLE PASS THE BAG gift card. When ordering stipulate either lanterns or wine glasses for the neck trim. Colours available Red, Purple, Turquiose or Rust ( as pictured)

DOVE CARD
The Dove Card is made by Nguyen.
Especially during the holiday times, the peace dove is a universal theme appropriate for all cultures. The dove is carefully cut on a high quality cream linen paper and placed on a background of genuine Vietnamese silk. Colours available Gold, Red, Green & Blue.
