We got straight off the bus from the Mekong Delta tour and went to the train station to catch the 23.00 train from Saigon to Hoi An arriving at 2pm. These trains were not as good as the train from Malaysia to Thailand! They were 'hard sleepers' which means 6 beds (3 bunks on each side) on a very hard bed with a pillow and sheet. We were with a group of 4 other 'foreigners' (as it said on our ticket)! Sleeping wasn't too bad, it was more the day time where you can't sit up as the bunks don't fold away! The views were great - passing lots of countryside and rice paddys.
