I have recently been in discussion with Intrepid, a well known and respected travel company. Intrepid have a wonderful fundraising initiative called Intrepid Challenge. They have invited Lifestart Foundation to become one of their charity partners. This is a very exciting project for Lifestart to be involved with and I think that you will agree when you hear all about it.
There's no such thing as a free trip. However, if you have the drive (or rather, the legs) to get behind Lifestart Foundation (www.lifestartfoundation.org.au) and engage in a charity fundraising bike ride, then you can convert your hard work into the trip of a lifetime.
This 13 day trip, proposed for November 2008, is an opportunity to experience the best ride in Vietnam! An opportunity to bicycle through the rugged and remote NW provinces, home to hill tribe villages, rice-terraces, and superb mountain scenery, and away from traffic and tourist crowds.
Here’s how it works. You pay

What's it all about?
This is the real deal, a journey through what we (and many others in the know) rate as the most interesting and authentic part of Vietnam. This often overlooked area of the country offers spectacular mountain panoramas and a rich tapestry of hill tribe people still living a traditional life. You’ll think you’ve biked onto a film set as you cycle through terraced mountain and river valleys with ethnic minorities in traditional costumes and children herding buffalo on the roads. Between climbing winding mountain passes and screaming down hills, we will spend time in the former French hill station of Sapa and the famous battle ground of Dien Bien Phu.

Great idea!
What a fantastic idea to raise funds for a great cause. I have been through those areas in Vietnam and the asking price for raising funds are NOTHING compared to experience of travelling at cycling pace in one of the world's most beautiful places.
