Nha trang

Nha Trang is one of the most popular holiday destinations for the Vietnamese and easily the closest thing to a western style resort I have seen Vietnam, so much so it could be described as the Costa Del Sol of Vietnam. The busy beach resort as a white sandy beach fringed with coconut palms and only spoilt by the constant hassle from people trying to sell you crap you don’t want! I know they are only trying to make a living but when the same people approach you every ten minutes its gets very frustrating.

The food here was cheap and generally tasted great, from traditional chicken pho (noodle soup) for only 30 pence to eating crabs and sea snails on the beach for a mere 75 pence! Bargain. In the evening we played footy with guys from the local college. They were surprisingly good.

We signed up for ‘party boat trip’ which consisted of a trip around some of the small local islands and a few hours snorkeling. The highlight was probably drinking at the novelty ‘floating bar’ which was a ring made from floats with a barman in the middle dishing out free shots of something resembling diesel. It was free so it was rude not have at least a couple!

The following day we ventured to a health spa, something neither of us had ever done before. We started by wallowing in a bath apparently full of mineral rich mud, followed by a quick shower and a bath in almost boiling temperature, after about ten minutes we felt fully cooked and went for a relaxing swim in the much cooler 30° mineral swimming pool.

You dirty b*stards!
Well, seen as no one has commented for a while thought I'd post just to say - that mud doesn't look like it's done any good!! Thought a mud bath was meant to make bathers younger and better looking?! Tom.
