Nha Trang
By the time we got off the sleeper bus in Nha Trang Jono was crook, we are not too sure what caused it as he was eating the same food as Cia and I except for one meal he ate when we stopped for a break on the sleeper bus trip! I found the sleeper bus sweet as, we had heard so many bad stories about them but apparentely we had a mint bus according to the others.
We arrived at 6am and found accommodation up an alley across the road from the beach, Cia shared a room with us again (we shared in Hoi An as well). Nha Trang is well known for its beaches although I rekon there are better in NZ and Aus but for peeps who dont have that novelty they love it. The others hit the beach, Jono was tucked up in bed and I accidently fell asleep so that first day was a rest day and time to catch up on sleep!
The next day we planned to go to Vinpearl Land, which is Vietnam's biggest waterpark and you get to it by cable car, its the longest cable car
over water in the world. Jono was feeling better and felt he was up for it, we thought that we could walk to the cable car and save a mingy 75 cents each on a taxi but boy we shouldn't have been scrooge mc ducks!!! The walk there was horrible it took us an hour and a half and we were drenched in our sweat by the time we made it! We took a taxi back and it clocked 5km, which doesnt seem much but in the heat was nasty.
We had heard good and bad reports about Vinpearl but still decided to go and see for ourselves, we wanted to ride the cable car anyway. If you take into account that it's Vietnam and not the Gold Coast the park was fine, we made our own fun. The park was so loose on safety it seemed that anything goes and the rides were only open at certain times of the day so you sort of had to plan it out.
We saw an awesome sunset over the mountains behind Nha Trang on the cable car back.
The next morning Cia headed off to Mui Ne, we
would of went with her too but Jono relapsed so we decided to have a rest day. He hadn't eaten anything for 3 days so we went out to see if he could stomach dinner, he managed to eat half but he has been put off Viet food since then and wants burgers everyday now.
He decided he was well enough to travel so we booked the bus to Mui Ne the next morning.
Mui Ne
Mui Ne is 5 hours south of Nha Trang and is also known for its beaches, but also for kite surfing, wind surfing and its massive sand dunes. We only stayed here one night using it as a pit stop to Saigon. It seemed very relaxed and if we had more time we may have stayed longer.
