So after arriving around 6am in Nha Trang last Weds, we were pretty surprised to see the beach busy with locals running and doing their exercise classes, the roads were full and street stalls all open! Crazy...here we were thinking about going back to sleep for a few hours. The journey had been okay, the beds were like the ones in the chinese busses so pretty small, not much leg room!
We got dropped off at a hotel, but the offer wasn that great and they weren in the central location so we decided to head towards where most of the hotels were and ended up getting an average room for about 7 pound, so not bad, had a little balcony too. It was warm here but pretty cloudy and kept randomly raining for like a minute, then stops. We all decided to go back to sleep for a few hours and Ste and I said to Rob and Ross we would meet them around lunch time or something.
At lunch we walked around town a bit, its right by the beach so its pretty touristy and that means a bit more pricey, food was more like 1-2 pound
for a decent meal, but we found this cute restaurant that gave you a free drink with sandwiches or burgers and a free beer or cocktail with a main meal....we ended up coming here 3 times after our lunch today. After lunch we headed straight to the beach, the sea still wasn quite warm enough for me so I laid down soaking up the sun while the 3 boys dived right into the sea. The sea was pretty crazy and had these huge waves that the boys were pretty excited about, not after about 5 minutes when the waves completely smashed them to pieces! They were ok, just a bit beaten. It was a bit scary to watch as the wave comes and they think they can handle it, the wave smashed over them and they dissapear underwater eventually coming up looking shattered. After 1 big wave though they came out as it was pretty scary and Rob got pushed down to the floor by the wave and scraped his chest on the seabed...so that taught them all not to go in again! After those waves it pretty much put us off the beach and with the weather not being
hot hot hot like it should be when you
e at beach we were a bit stuck with what to do in Nha Trang and how long to stay for.
Later that evening we headed out to dinner at a little italian near our hotel and then went to a couple of popular bars in town. One called Why Not Bar (same as the one we worked in in Hoi An) which sold the bucket cocktails for just over 1 pound before 11pm, so we had some there then headed over to this amazing bar right on the beach called the sailors club, drinks were a bit more, beer about 1-1.50 but they had another bucket cocktail for about 1.60, so we got some more of them in, danced a bit and then rested on some chairs right on the beach watching the crazy waves before walking back to hotel along the beach! Great night 😊
So the next day was a bit of a lazy one after a late night. We had a nice lie in, its so nice having our own room as everywhere from here onwards is mainly hotels and guesthouses, not many hostels. And
also having a TV in our room 😊 We can just relax for a bit. We went out for a late breakfast at a lovely little restaurant facing the beach and had a little stoll up along the front, but there wasn much to see and the weather again was raining off and on, so headed back to the hotel for an afternoon nap! Haha! And to watch some films. That evening the 4 of us headed out to dinner at our favourite restaurant we found, had a nice big dinner, starter and everything! Looking at us splashing out! Headed back for an early night after.
Friday we had booked our bus to take Ste and I to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) that evening and Rob and Ross were going off to Dalat the next day, so we had 1 more day in Nha Trang not really sure what to do...so we decided to book a trip to the Hot Spring Mud Bath Spa Centre!! Ahhh it was amazing. Entrance was just over 3 pound per person with unlimited time at the resort and transport up for just over 1 pound each! Bargain! Rob and Ross joined us
too, so we began with sitting in a mud bath for about 15 minutes, which was a bit weird, but nice. Then after some mineral showers that tasted just like sea water we got to sit in this hydro something or other pool and it was boiling, almost to the point of it hurting! It was sooo uncomfortable as it was a pretty hot day anyway and the water was just too warm, but nice for a short time. Then we had these hydro something or other showers that just shoot out onto your body at a ridiculous speed it hurts! Then after our pampering session we were free to use the pool which was set at a nice 38 degrees, they also had a cooler pool and jacuzzis! What a lovely day! Was so nice just to relax and be pampered. We got back, had our last dinner with the lads before boarding on our bus around 8pm. Just the two of us again.
Sorry theres no piccies, having a few problems with the memory card, wont let me access the piccies on the computer, keeps saying its got a virus, god knows how! Hopefully sort it out.
Lots of Love
