Leaving Hoi An, we made the bus wait 5 minutes while the last shop we ordered from motorbiked the final touches on a dress and silk robe to us at the station. actually, we were waiting on another delivery by bike as well, but we had maxed out the driver's patience. opps. do you expect any less from us?
stacy and jessie = the definition of procrastination.
but we wanted out of that city b/c if we didn't leave then, it would mean another 24 hours in the land of shopping. bad news.
so we got on, and said we would figure it out later. ahh yes, we get to sit next to eachother - alway a plus, but all of our foot space was occupied by our new wardrobes. so we settled in and switched on our ipods to tune out the blaring Vietnamese r & b (which due to the language barrier - sounds like whinning 12 year old girls).
hum-de-dum-dum...we only got 2 shitty broken hours of sleep.
as we strolled down the streets of this beach town, stace found a mexican restaurant... score!! The owner spoke english, spanish, french and vietnamese. he
MEAT! we gave in...
our first mexican food citing and we HAD to get steak fajitas. greeted us with some moonshine banana-cinnamon rum shots and smoozed for awhile. we def ordered nachos right away that were no dos coyote's but pretty damn good.
jessie has always wanted to become a certified scuba diver and... stacy has not. in fact, she made it clear in the states that she had no desire to dive. haha. but if you know stacy, she is usually easy to convince. Nha Trang has the reputation of having the best coral reefs in south-east asia... not to mention the cheapest crash courses. how could we pass this up? so, after a few minutes of peer pressure, we signed up the next morning for a 5 star open water PADI course.
this was the highlight of this city for us since it was raining most of our time there. EXCEPT, one night we were reading in our lonely planet that there was a famous blind masseus in this city. we found this pretty humorous. as part of our diving course, they had a lottery and we both won 1 hour massages... we could NOT believe it when a blind man entered stacy's room!! haha, jessie was super jealous... until she realized
we are finally here!
miles of white sand...preview of thailand. we are so ready!! it wasn't only her female masseus getting fresh on our "boob muscles."
awkward!
our massages basically consisted of a rough rub down followed by a beating. it was... different. at least it was free... and we got fewer bruises than expected.
didn't get to do much exploring because of the constant downpour, so we headed south to Mui Nei where supposedly the sun always shines.
