We arrived in Nha Trang on Sunday afternoon to rain & high winds. It is a seaside resort so I imagine I wold have liked it ore if the weather was better but there wasn't much going on really. Claire & I found somewhere to stay, had a look around, booked a bus to Hoi An for Monday night & a city tour for during the day on Monday. We checked our e-mails & went to meet our friend Adam.

We spent Sunday evening in a Beer Ahoy place where beer is really cheap, 12,000 Dong for a litre, (about 40p), Claire & Adam & I drun 4 litres & met Louise from Leeds & Dana from Ireland.

Adam joined us on our city tour, despite being woken up in the middle of the night by the ceiling in his room caving in. We went to the Oceanographic Institute, (like an aquarium & a museum), they had sharks, turtles, puffer fish & all sorts. Bao Dai Villa's, (not even worth mentioning). Long Son Pagoda, which had a 14 metre high white Buddha, a big bell you could ring & a long sleeping buddha.

We then went on to Cham Ponagar, a tower built in the 7th Century which we were told by the taxi driver if you pray to the buddha for one thing you will get it!? The last stop was Chong promotory, 2 big rocks on the sea front called the husband & wife rocks. The taxi driver offered to take us to Cho Dam Market, (Central Maket) & as it was only midday & the trip was supposed to last until 3pm we said yes. I brought a watch as my other watches battery had died, I managed to get it from 180,000 Dong to 60,000 Dong, (less than 2 quid), so if lasts me a couple of weeks I'll be impressed!

The taxi driver dropped us back by our hotel & tried to charge us extra, we told him where to go, (as politely as possible), & went for lunch. As Claire & I had an afternoon to waste we sat in Zippo's bar watching a film. We met some guys from Bristol who oddly enough had done exactly the same countries & route as us & had set off just 2 days after us. They had even stayed in the same bungalows as us on Ko Samet, they couldn't remember us but could remember our friend Ashley because of his tatoo that covered the whole of his back.

We got the bus to Hoi An 6pm which was a 13 hour journey!
