Im back... yes all its me again from NraTrang... So what have I been doing with
myself you ask... Well let me tell you... The first night here I was staying at
a hotel that I didn't want to stay at and reason was this... First I felt
bombarded by the lady as soon as I got out of the cab... I was to tiried to
deal with it and i took the room... When I was in the room and the A/C w2as not
working I went to see If smacking it would help... Well when I stood on the
table there was a russian pack of cigarettes there and in the pack was pot and
some type of straw with white powder in it.... At that point I ran to the
toilet and dispose of everything not knowing if I was about to get set up...
And yes I threw out the Pot too... It was probably just some tourist stash but
I was not going to take a chance... So now on when I go to stay at a place Im
going to check things out in
Nha Trang
A big clean up ahead thwe room... The next morning I found that the
place that I wanted to stay at was right next door and I moved in there... Its
a nice place called The Perfume Grass Inn... For $12us you get the A/C TV hot
water and this includes breakfast also.... I then went to see the aftermath of
the Typhoo that hit part of this area... the beach was a mess and there where
Tikie huts all over the place... The water was brown and I was not going to
swim in it that was sure.. I later met some nice Aussie girls and we hung out
for a few hours until they left to Ho Chi Minh...We exchange some information
about where we had been and where we were going...
The next day i rented a
moto scooter to see the sites... I felt that this was a sleepy little town and
that renting a scooter was going to be safer than the big cities... The first
stop was to the big white Buddha... Alot of steps... I found out that a cruise
ship had just docked in port
and that explained why there was so many tourists
around... I then went to the train station to get my next ticket to Hue... this
time I made sure that it was going to be a soft sleeper and a bottom bunk...
The cost was 372,000D or $23us for the 12hr trip...the next stop was Clam
tower... It was a temple that the Buddhist worshiped at one time... I then went
on the road that followed the ocean and found some great beaches and some
unbelievable scenery... There were people in round tubs in the ocean fishing
and I thought that was cool.... I then went to the other side of the city and
found some other beautiful sites... Later that evening I just chilled out and
had the usual food(rice and springrolls) and finish my book... I now need to
find anothergood one that will keep my attention... The next day I kept the
moto and went to the Oceanographic Institute... The cost was 15000D or $1us...
At the time the only had one pool with some Leopard sharks a some other ones
too... They also
had another pool with a few Sea Turtles and the biggest one
was dead... The rest of the exhibits were just snakes and other types of fish
in pickle jars...not to exciting... I then went to one of the markets.... I
looked the markets they have some exciting things for sale and sometimes you
can find some good deals... I later met a Irish girl at a restaurant while
having lunch and had a good chat... Then took a rest at the beach and caught
some rays... While having dinner the same Irish girl and her friend joined me
for dinner... We later played some pool and I was surprised that the one girl
played quote good... We then went to an Irish pub and then called it a
night.... they were surprised that I didn't drink...LOL... The next day we all
went to some place that had a pool and lounge chairs next to the beach and just
chilled out there... I played some chess with one of the girls but that wasn't
much of a competition for me.... But that was OK... We then went to
Nha Trang
A big clean up ahead dinner and
said our Goodbyes as I was heading north and they were heading south... To bad
I liked the one girl and think she quite fancied me too... But it just wasn't
in the stars I guess...
Got on the train and headed to my sleeping berth...
There were two other peoplethat camein after me but there was allready 3
including myself in the compartment... then found out that one of the Vietemese
guys wasn't suppose to be there... The porter kicked him out and then there was
room for all... But the one girl wanted to have her sheets changed the guy came
back and gave her new sheets...LOL... the funny thing is that I doubt that the
were any cleaner then the ones that she took of the bed... As I found out when
the got off at their stop..... The guy just came in and fold them upand plased
them as if they were fresh and clean...LOL... But we all talked for about an
hour and they told me that in Ho Chi Minh they took a rickshaw and at the end
the
Nha Trang
A big clean up ahead guy wanted $45us each... LOL and they paid it but not with out abit of an
argument... Thats why you allways get the price up front....Sleeping on the
train was not that bad... I arrived in Hue around 5:30 and then had to deal
with the Touts again... This time was abit worst then usual... I think because
there wasn't as manny foreigners get off the train... This time I was just
telling them all to back off with anger... I went toa cafe for a coke untill
they were almost gone and then walked to the area that has some of the hotels
that I wanted to stay at... I surprised that there was a guy trying to mislead
me to a HI(hostelling International) and saying that other places where full...
Tough shit because I wouldn't stay a corporate HI anyway... I found a place for $7us a night and with the usual amendaties... I then went for a long walk around town... Alot more MOTO drivers around here to bother you... "where you want to go"da da da.... Im now just putting my head phones on... I did like
Nha Trang
Clam Tower to walk around and see a couple of the markets and some of the parks that Hue has... But I can't see being here more then two days... After I went to a nice restaurant for dinner... I was surprised again that no one bothered me for postcards or anything that they usually do when you have dinner... Then went to bed...
The next day I went to get my train ticket to Hanoi and then went to see Citadel or imperial city in which the Americans bombed during the war... More old ruins but I had a good time... I then went for lunch at a restaurant that the LOnely Planet recommends... it was just OK but also cheap...When I was walking back towards my hotel I saw that some guy was selling some claymore mines and other American war items like dog tags... not to sure if they were the realMckoy or not but I wasn't going to buy... I just chilled out for the rest of the night and went for a walk at the river in the evening and went to bed... I woke up and now just getting ready for my trip to Hanoi... Some
people are asking for more pics bit unfortunatly it takes about 5mins to upload them to the blog... But not to worries because when I get back home I will have a site where you can see all the pic...And trust me I have about 2000 allready... Ive also would like to say Thank You to all the people that have read my blog I see that about 800 people have visited it since Nov and that I hope that it helps you in your travel... take care Michael
