Bry getting up a good lick down the dunes. It was good we opted for the early morning tour, as the sand would have been unbearably hot otherwise.
Tom speaking: Arrived in Mui Ne around lunchtime on the open tour bus - you pay at the start for the number of legs you want to do, then just hop on/off as you wish at your destination. Pretty good value at 8 quid each for HCMC -> Mui Ne -> Nha Trang -> Hoi An. Food here cheaper than HCMC (not that that was expensive) - 2 courses and beer each for just over 4 quid. Got in at the place just next to the bus drop-off which had nice rooms and pool with bar.

Spent the next two days just chilling really; Mui Ne is a pretty relaxed place, no cocktail buckets or loud music etc. Took in a jeep tour of nearby sand dunes at sunrise on the last morning there which was worth the early start. Did some'dune-surfing' (plastic wobble-board you whizz down the dune on). Great fun but hard work walking up for the second go!

Bus to Nha Trang in the afternoon then overnight train to Danang (for Hoi An nearby). Would like to stay in Nha Trang for a bit but we don't really have time considering all the other stuff we

Crap photo I know. Some people don't know what a viewfinder is (or they're just blind)
want to do in SE Asia.

Bry speaking: Met up with a nice bunch in Mui Ne, swapped tips on good tailors in Hoi An. Very excited about getting new clothes, shallow I know, sorry. Sand dunes were wicked, probably the closest I'll ever get to experiencing a Saharan scene. Sand surfing was a little scary, and being as I don't really like sand I thought I was pretty gutsy giving it a go. Best thing about Mui Ne... a bathroom with a bath!

As well as dunes, there is an impressive 'mini Grand Canyon' thing nearby

No actually I was soaking having just climbed out of the pool so the glamour pose was unintentional (really). Note Saigon beer in hand - Vietnamese beers are quality.
