We decided to take the long way to Nairobi, so visited Paul's parents in New Zealand and then mine in Vietnam. Our first trip out of Hanoi (where mum and dad are) was to Sapa, which is up in the mountains. It started with a 9 hour overnight train trip, which wasn't too bad, we had a 4 berth cabin so could sleep...sort of....they were wooden beds rather thing matresses on top. We arrived at some... Tam Coc means three caves, it's a few hours outside Hanoi. We were rowed through the 3 caves, some great views.

I realised when I arrived to get on the boat that i needed a hat, so our driver helped me buy this rather ill fitting cap. But at least I got a reasonable price and was being sun smart.

This is what our boat looked like as well. All the boats dock in particular places together for the evening.
