My luck was running thin in Vietnam. I'd left myself a measly 10 days to travel from Hanoi all the way down to HCMC. I spent the entire time catching buses and covering the highlights. ...this is pretty tame. They had rat on the menu in HCMC. Someone later assured me that they aren't city dwellers, but rather the field rat variety. Yummy.

Tourist attraction!!!

Yet another caged animal at a roadside stop, amusement for the tourists on the way to the loo. His eyes looked out of the cage with so much loneliness. His cage was so small, completely bare with not even a rope for him to hang off. He only wanted to be touched. Instead, he touched us with his sadness.

He was a big boy

...he was cold to touch. His skin was very smooth but hard at the same time. As he wriggled around my body, his grip was very strong. I liked him hugging me. (i know, another captive...but a pet. i couldn't help myself, had to touch.)

Hey Zoe!!! Really nice to read your story and have a look at the pictures. It makes me wanna go back, even if the people aren't always that friendly or trustworthy. I hope you're having a good time in Bulgaria. Let me know when you're somewhere around Belgium/Holland! Enjoy! Cheers Sylvie
